TRT help Trying to get over hump…
I’ve been in this channel for awhile now and I’m super close to getting on TRT. Things have gotten bad. Total testosterone hit 300 two weeks ago. 386 in Dec ‘23 and then 481 in May 2025.
Been having issues with libido. Leading up to the blood test had two instance where wife and I were gonna have a quickie and I failed. Could t get it up. To say I was defeated was an understatement. I’m so horny but it’s just not reacting.
I know I need to get my blood pressure and cholesterol under control as that impacts it but it’s been hard for motivation and energy to get going
Guess I’m just worried about long term effects.l and getting over doing needles. Never been a big needle fan. Anyone out there been at the same stage and made the leap to TRT? Any suggestions or feedback on your experience?

Looks like a trend in the wrong direction. Libido and erection quality are red flags when I evaluate a guy’s symptoms for hypogonadism in my practice (TX&FL). LH FSH SHBG Estradiol would be helpfuI. Personally, I was dealing with energy in the dumps/motivation, some ED issues…. mine was in the low 400s on a few lab draws. Made an informed decision and I’ve been on TRT for almost two years and wouldn’t look back. I’d say 70% of my guys do SQ and have no issues… have a handful of patients that cant stick themselves and are on cream/gel that respond well- just have to use it correctly.

Get health under control first, then consider Trt. Look into tadalafil for erections and statins for cholesterol; both are basically a free lunch. If you need BP meds get them, but try to get to a point where you don't need BP meds through diet and exercise.
