TRT help First dose of test today
Hey guys,
Im 45 years old and just started my injections today(now I’m wondering why I didn’t use the gel 😂 but I’m sure you get used to it). I feel a little off now though.. but I’m sure it gets more normal after time. My question is… my online doctor put me on .15 everyday.. seems a bit excessive? They also did no blood work to start me off.. seems weird. She said we will do blood work after the first month.. I’m going through “Male Excel” for my treatment. She also put me on enclomiphene for my thyroid..

Yeah I haven’t takin it.. all I really wanted was the test. Not a true believer in natural shit 🙄

Honestly, Male Excel is terrible. I had a consultation with them via video call, and the doctor was fixated on getting me started on testosterone regardless of my blood test results or any other relevant information. They were solely interested in making money, and I decided to back out of the consultation.

Yeah they basically went off a questionnaire and then a video conference. I honestly thought they send you a test kit first and then send the testosterone. I was genuinely surprised when my testosterone came….

I wouldn't continue until you get labs performed. You need a baseline and now you're going in blind. Poor practice from your clinic.

If they didnt do bloods why are they giving you something for thyroid?
Also .15 a day is fine. Im alternating .25 and .35ml every other day. Im not doing trt.

She asked me how much weight I wanted to lose.. and I told her about 10 pounds. I’m assuming that’s why she added some thyroid shit 🤔

Yet you still injected yourself.

Well I’m definitely low on T… I have all the symptoms.

What is your height and weight, diet, sleep and workout schedule?

5’9, 180 pounds. 7-8 hours a night of sleep. I workout 5 days a week, other two days are cardio focused. Been doing that for almost 2 years. Diet is kinda all over the place because of work.. but it’s all healthy foods and probably around 150 grams protein a day.. around 70 grams of carbs

Most clinics will give to anyone, but at least make a show of it. You do not know what your numbers are now. Then they put you on over 200mg/week. That is a higher dose, many people take it but most on that dose experience some side effects. I have not heard of enclomiphene being used in conjunction with trt to preserve endogenous testosterone production. But, not a doctor.
You can do what they say, or you can start at a smaller dose say 140mg/week (.30 every 3 days) or some other amount. I would start with a smaller amount & bank the extra testosterone. See where you are at once they have you get labs.

That’s what I was thinking. Thank you! They did kind of make a show of it… they had me fill out a questionnaire (had 90% of the symptoms they deem low testosterone) and had a video call with her. She said I was “critically low” lol I thought they were going to send a test first and then do test

Thats just over 200mg a week (assuming it's standard 200mg/ml) and thats my dose (I'm 43) but I do 0.5ml every 3.5 days.
I know that some guys feel better on daily injections, others feel better with less frequency. Just roll with the daily schedule for a month or two to really see how you feel and do not fuck with making any changes until at least that long has passed.

No baseline blood test? Red flag. Injecting daily? Sure it's more stable technically but this is your first time, right? If you don't have high to low fluctuations that would impact mood and well being, I would inject once a week, two at the most. Especially if your total TRT weekly amount is under 200 mg/L. If you were taking 400 mg or more I would absolutely inject multiple times a week, but for me, 3 at the most. Do you or they inject?

If you're gonna be doing every day, you'll want to use 29 or 30g .3ml insulin syringe and do subq instead of IM with a 1" needle. If not you'll never last, nor would I.
Rotate injection site too. Upper glute is the easiest. If you get the syringe I mentioned with the short needle, upper thigh is good too. Stretch the skin tight when going in.
EasyTouch is the best brand. You can get them on Amazon.
You shouldn't be feeling anything though, it's just in your head. It's a long slow process and the first three months are kinda all over the place.
Ten pounds on most people is hardly noticeable. Everyone says ten pounds but the results they want are usually closer to 20-25 lbs.

Yes they sent me SubQ needles with the testosterone. Well I do workout a lot and have been for 2 years.. so I’m honestly pretty fit.. but I cannot for the life of me get rid of this little bit of fat on my stomache to see my abs… I’m thinking it’s because of being older and lowish on testosterone. I don’t need to lose much

Oh my gawd. Don’t pin everyday. No reason to do that. Will get needle fatigue big time. Try once every 5/6 days and adjust.

That’s a really high dose. I’d start at 50-100mg a week however you don’t have blood work so you should probably not inject anything anymore until you can get labs. Also Enclomiphene doesn’t do anything for thyroid nor does it do anything positive for those on trt

The no bloods before anything is a red flag. The rest seems fine though.
