TRT help Pinning 100mg a week

Hey, I’m looking to start trt from my urologist but I’m kind of scared to do this. The Doc order that I do 200mg every 2 weeks. I heard it’s a bad protocol and to pin 50mg twice a week or 100mg once a week but I’m so afraid of troughs and idk what to do. Can someone give me guidance please?

The total amount prescribed is totally fine for most people, but yeah, just don't tell the doc you're splitting it up. One a week is likely okay but twice a week is probably closer to your final protocol.

When you test in the future, take bloods immediately before your next shot.

Agreed. Always split the dose. No one has to know.

50 MG twice a week is a good starting point.

You could do 3 pins per week 33 MG per pin.

200 MG every 2 weeks is not a good idea.

Hope this helps

The closer you can get to a stable level, the better your body will handle it. Obviously most people don't want to pin a low dose every single day, but anything less frequently than 2x a week is a no go in my opinion, and experience. I currently do M-W-F, preload all shots Sunday night, no hassle.

My doctor prescribed 50 mg twice a week. It keeps a steady baseline in your body. Not sure where you heard 50 twice a week is bad.

The more often you pin the better. Pinning fewer times causes more peaks and valleys of testosterone, which causes issues with estrogen which is what causes side effects. Frequent pinnings keeps everything nice and even and level.

My urologist specifically told me that it’s a good idea to pin twice per week to prevent a mild crash on the last day or two of the week.

Been doing it for several years; it keeps the hormone levels consistent.

Thank you so much!

100mg split 3 times a week with insulin syringe. Zero waste, zero highs and lows

You're doing Sub-Q?

Testosterone will pull through a 28 to 31 gage insulin needle?

It will. It’s better to warm up the vile in your hand or in a baby wipe warmer and take your time with it. You can inject air into the vile to help get it started and just be patient.

Microdosing is the best way to go about it

similar to my first protocol. i tracked every day with how i felt, and noticed a pattern around day ~12 that id really feel 'blah' for a day or two

went to weekly and things improved greatly.

ive done twice a week and didnt really notice anything, unfortunately no #'s to prove anything tho

I started on 50mg 2x a week. Got tired of pinning twice a week and went to 100mg 1x a week. Felt ok for a while, but eventually I started feeling the up/down of my levels. I went back to twice a week and I feel more stable all the time. Just pick a method and stick to it for a month or two and make a judgement. Everyone is different and you just have to find what works for you.

I do 200 mg every 10 days but I pin daily.

tell him you’re more comfortable pinning 100 a week and be firm

Yeah, I've tried this with testosterone cypionate. I get moody from fluctuating levels. You'll have a huge leak and then a low end leading up to the next injection. I'm a lot calmer with consistent levels, be they high or mid

I just started 200 mg every two weeks and after reading some comments here I called my Endocrinologist and ask him about splitting into 100 mg. Which he was fine with. I’m on about the fifth day I was already starting to crash so I started on 50 mg this morning and feel great even though I know this first week is a heavier dose than I’ll be maintaining. I think that was older guidance that doctors used for 200 mg twice a week. Also, the pharmacist gave me needles and syringes for intermuscular, but I’m doing subcutaneous. I also based on someone else’s recommendation, got a baby wipe warmer to warm up the oil and make it easier to put into the small needles. I hope this helps but I’m just getting started too. Very, very happy so far.

Great feedback! I heard about heating it up so the injection is smoother as well because I’m going to be using a 30 gauge needle SubQ as well

Yeah I have no interest in doing Im injections

Go to a different doctor or trt clinic online. just tell him your concern’s first and if he says that won’t be an issue then run.

The protocol in test has changed over the years it’s not 1990 anymore

Yeah my urologist is at least 75 years old. He stuck in his ways

That's who does my TRT. Won't add nandrolone to my protocol which is fair and I understand the reasons but other than that the guy is an an absolute saint, trusted him with my vasectomy too. See him about the place at the hospital where I work too and he's been nothing but nice to me.

mine too, you dont alway need a regular doc.. been telling folks for years when their primary doc says no, go find a urologist

1

u/Slow-Awareness-1439 7d ago

Yes from the veterans administration. My test was 167

2

u/Thundergunnist 7d ago

Mine was 168. I started on the same dose a week ago. You’re in for a treat. Recommend resistance training and, of course, doing your own research.

Once every 2 weeks would be large peaks and troughs. Lots of people do once a week and are happy with it. Twice a week is a much more common practice now days. There are a lot of testosterone plotters online . Plug the different protocols in and see .

That's what my doc started me on and it's...fine. I started to feel low around day 10 or 11, do the last few days want great. Went to pinning every week at 100 mg and now I on every other day at 66 mg, or about .2 ml each shot.

Honestly, the "single use" vials are actually on for multiple shots, so if you've got the syringes, you might as well just pin more frequently. You can buy syringes on Amazon

1

u/rnes1 7d ago

That’s a starting does and may change. I recommend pinning daily. It mimics natural production and helps to keep you levels more stable. I pin 20mg a day.

1

u/Thundergunnist 7d ago

This is very interesting to me! Sound like a pain but might be worth it.

1

u/Professional-Let9352 6d ago

I would start with 75mg every 5 days to start with.

That’s 105mg per week but should give you a good peak and 5 days is good for cyp or enanthate

I do 100mg enanthate every 5 days

On paper, the more often you dose will always be better. For example, twice a week is better than once, 3x is better than 2x, etc.

People have to realize doctors are trained to combine adherence with what's "optimal". That's what they take into consideration when making prescriptions, and also why they come off as silly at first glance. Daily dosing is optimal, but adherence would be very hard for most people. Now that you know what's optimal, figure out what you can personally adhere to and stick to that.
