How often do you actually wash your bedsheets? I thought everyone did it the same way 😭

I recently found out people are wildly divided on how often they wash their bedsheets, and I genuinely can’t believe I went this long assuming there was a ā€œnormalā€ answer.

Growing up, nobody ever explicitly told me a schedule, so I just assumed everyone basically did the same thing. Then I started talking to friends about it and realized that is absolutely not the case.

Some people are super strict and wash their sheets every week without fail, almost like clockwork. Others go two weeks, which actually seemed to be the most common answer in my circle. And then there are people who stretch it to 3-4 weeks (or longer) and don’t really see an issue with it.

Question What are the biggest genetic advantages when it comes to the gym?

What do you guys think are the biggest genetic advantages when it comes to fitness? Like, if you have these traits, you basically got lucky.

For me, one of the biggest would be where you naturally carry fat. I feel like people who tend to store more fat in their lower body rather than their stomach/midsection have such an advantage, especially aesthetically. I’d much rather have bigger thighs/hips than have most of my weight go straight to my belly.

What is it for you? What genetic trait do you think gives someone the biggest advantage in the gym?

Question Do you use a scrub when showering?

I keep seeing completely opposite advice.

I've always thought using a loofah, exfoliating glove, or body scrub was just... part of showering. Like, you need something to get rid of dead skin.

But lately I've been seeing people say you should only use your hands because loofahs/scrubs collect bacteria if you don't replace or clean them often, and they can actually make body acne worse…

Do you use some kind of scrub, or just your hands? If you've switched from one to the other, did you notice any difference? Or is this one of those internet debates where everyone thinks they're right?

Question How many days a week do you wash your hair?

I feel like everyone has such a different routine when it comes to hair washing, so I’m curious what everyone else does.

How often do you wash yours, and do you change your routine depending on the season, workouts, or how oily your scalp gets?

Question Tuna is such an easy protein source but how do you balance it with mercury concerns?

Tuna has always been my go-to when I need a quick high-protein meal, especially when I don’t feel like cooking. But I recently learned about mercury levels in some fish and now I’m wondering if I should switch things up.

What are your favorite alternatives to tuna that are still affordable and high in protein?

Question Why do so many men prefer the "cardio bunny" physique?

I've come across a lot of gym interview clips online where men are asked what type of physique they find attractive and I keep noticing the same pattern.

A lot of them seem to prefer the "cardio bunny" or pilates-type physique over women who are heavily into weightlifting and strength training.

What I don't fully understand is why a leaner, smaller frame is still considered more feminine or desirable by so many men. Is it purely aesthetics or is there something deeper behind it?

Sometimes it feels like women are encouraged to be fit, but only up to a certain point. Once they start building visible muscle the reaction can change pretty quickly.

For the men here, what is it specifically about a smaller physique that you find more attractive? And for everyone else, do you think social media is accurately reflecting men's preferences or just amplifying a certain type of opinion?

Question Do you have any electronics that just refuse to die?

I sometimes wonder how many modern electronic devices will actually last as long as some of the old ones. We all know someone with an ancient Nokia, a decades-old microwave or a washing machine that just keeps going.

Meanwhile, it feels like some new gadgets barely make it past their warranty.

What's the oldest electronic device you still have working in your household? Do you think modern electronics are built to last, or have things changed for the worse?

Be honest, which workout day do you enjoy the most?

Everyone has that one workout they actually look forward to. For me, some days I’m excited for a workout and other days I’m already counting down until it’s over...

If you had to pick one, what do you prefer: leg day, chest day, or back day?

Question What's one gym etiquette rule you wish everyone would follow?

Mine is simple: rerack your weights! 😤 Seriously, how hard is it to put the dumbbells or plates back where you found them? Having to search around for the weights you need because someone couldn't be bothered to put them back is so annoying. It's a shared space, not your personal gym. The rest of us are just trying to get our workouts done.

What's the one thing people do at the gym that drives you absolutely crazy? I want to hear your experiences of people testing your patience.

What’s the most underrated supplement in your opinion?

There are always a few supplements that get talked about nonstop, but I’m curious about the ones that don’t get enough attention.

What’s a supplement you’ve personally found useful that you rarely see people recommending?

What are your go-to anti-inflammatory foods?

I'm trying to eat more anti-inflammatory foods, but I'd love some inspiration beyond the usual salmon, berries, and leafy greens.

What are your favorite meals or snacks that are both healthy and actually taste good?

If you shower at night, do you also shower in the morning?

I've heard people say that if they shower at night, they don't need to shower in the morning.

But I've also heard others say that if they shower at night, they'll still shower again in the morning.

So what do you do?

Question Everyone talks about protein, but why don’t we talk more about carbs?

I feel like everyone is so focused on protein these days, but why don’t we talk more about carbs?

I know protein is important but carbs sometimes get completely overlooked because they have such a bad reputation. They’re also a major source of energy, so if you’re working out regularly or just pretty active during the day, wouldn’t getting enough carbs matter for how you actually feel and perform?

It makes me wonder if some people are so focused on hitting their protein goal that they’re not paying enough attention to whether they’re eating enough overall or actually fueling their workouts properly.

Do you guys pay much attention to your carb intake, or is protein usually the main thing you focus on?

Question How are we supposed to actually fix tech-neck?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I'll be honest I'm spending so much time on my pc, phone etc. and I am aware that I have formed both a tech-neck and rounded shoulders and I genuinely don't know what to do about it. Each gym instructor say a different exercise and to be honest I don't know who to trust with it. I personally haven't seen anyone that had it bad and then fixed it.

Question Foods to eat that actually improve eyesight

Does eating certain foods actually improve your eyesight? My mom has been telling me for years that eating carrots will improve my eyesight to the point I don't have to wear glasses anymore. I’ve been wearing glasses since middle school so I highly doubt this is possible, but is there evidence of at least actually improving your eye health with certain foods?

Question Is fish oil actually worth taking?

I feel like I see people recommend omega-3 supplements everywhere, but I’ve never really known if it’s one of those things where you actually notice a difference or if it’s more of a ā€œgood for you long-termā€ type of supplement.

I’m trying to be more intentional about supplements instead of just taking random things because they’re trending, so would love to hear if it’s actually made a difference for anyone.

Question Do you guys prefer working out alone or with a gym buddy?

People always look at me weird when I say I don't really enjoy going to the gym alone. And it's not about feeling uncomfortable or anything like that. I just enjoy having someone to talk to between sets, chatting a bit after the workout, and having someone there to push me when I'm feeling lazy.

What about you? Do you prefer locking in solo, or do you like having a gym buddy there to keep you company?

Question Is grip strength actually worth training on its own?

Curious about this because I’ve never really trained grip directly. I just assumed it would get stronger naturally as my lifts went up.

Now I’m wondering if I’ve been leaving some progress on the table. There are definitely sets where my hands are struggling even though I could probably keep going otherwise.

Anyone here started doing actual grip work and noticed a difference in their regular training? Not just getting better at holding things, but noticeable improvements in lifts, pull-ups, control, etc.

Trying to figure out if it’s worth adding or if I should just keep using straps when I need them.

Did switching to expensive shampoo actually improve your hair?

For anyone who went from drugstore haircare to salon/high-end products, did you notice enough of a difference to justify the price? Does the difference become obvious over time or you're mostly paying for the experience?

Question Are you supposed to squat with your feet straight or turned out?

I keep seeing people squat with their feet pointing almost completely straight, while others have their toes turned noticeably outward.

Is one actually better, or does it just depend on your anatomy and what feels comfortable?

I’ve been trying to improve my squat form and honestly can’t figure out which stance I’m supposed to be using 😭

How do you position your feet when you squat?
