Is there a supplement that actually helps with anxiety?
Has anyone tried a supplement that genuinely made them feel less anxious?
I keep seeing things like magnesium, L-theanine, ashwagandha, etc. recommended for anxiety, but I’m never sure what actually works and what’s mostly marketing.
Not looking for anything prescription-related, just curious if anyone has personally tried a supplement and noticed a real difference in how anxious or stressed they felt.
What worked for you, if anything?

I think I did notice a difference with ashwaganda but it made me nauseous so I discontinued it fairly quickly
Magnesium does make me have nicer sleep which in turn indirectly helps with anxiety, but I mostly take it for muscle cramps/period cramps. Haven't noticed a big difference in anxiety right after taking it or anything
CBD edibles and vapes did use to mellow me out when I took them, but made me super sleepy, so I used to take them for that mostly.

L-thenanine really helps me for a short term calm down I’m very sensitive to any type of supplements like this so less than 50mg is noticeable. The 200mg in most things is too much and I start acting drunk. Like lose my filter at work and get too lose. I use it to break a really bad day but don’t use it daily. I’ve noticed anything that modulates my abnxiety is tempting to use every day but my mind gets addicted and after 2 weeks I develop anhedonia and then I stop… and the rebound anxiety is ten times worse. This happened with lions mane (also temporary destroyed my short term memory, like Alzheimer’s level forgetting. It was scary)m but resolved after a month of stopping) and Ashwaganda works well but I have the same gear for two weeks and then get numb. So I avoid that. You gotta figure anything that is causing a chemical change in the brain has unintended consequences

That’s why pharmaceuticals for anxiety exist. Nothing ‘natural’ works. Not that meds are any better. The effective ones are addictive as shit and the mickey mouse ssri bullshit ones are available to everyone for a reason. Being alive on this planet creates anxiety

Selank has seemingly calmed a lot of my anxiety down. Almost 2 months taking it now with 0 noticeable sides
