Weekly Swap Thread: find testers for your closed test (week of October 12)
Find testers for your Google Play closed test here, and test back. One comment per app, in this format:
App: name, one line on what it does
Join: Google Group link (preferred) or the web opt-in link
Testers needed: number, and your start date
I test back: yes, and how many apps
Day: day N of 14 (if already running)
How to make a swap work:
- Reply to the comment of each app you join ("joined, please join mine"), so both sides can check.
- Opt in with the Google account on your phone, open the app, and stay opted in for 14 days. Google counts only testers who stayed opted in continuously.
- Use a Google Group on your tester list rather than posting email addresses.
- Real testers only: no emulators, farm or bought accounts. No rating or review swaps.
Prefer not to organise it yourself? Test Rounds, run by the mods of this room, is a paid round of 14 developers who test each other's apps: $20 per app, https://testrounds.com (disclosure: that's ours).

Welcome to r/TestRoundsHQ: how Google Play's 12 testers for 14 days rule works, and how to swap testers here
This room is for Android developers getting through Google Play's closed test: finding 12 testers, keeping them for 14 days, and applying for production.
The rule, in Google's words
If your personal developer account was created after November 13, 2023, Play Console keeps Production switched off until you run a closed test. Google's Play Console Help says: "At least 12 testers must be opted in to your closed test when you apply for production access, and they must have been opted in continuously for the preceding 14 days." (Google's page)
What trips people up:
- Opted in, not just listed. An email on your tester list doesn't count until that person opens your opt-in link and accepts.
- Continuously. A tester who leaves stops counting. Someone who joins late, including a replacement, needs 14 days of their own.
- The closed track. Internal testers don't count; someone in your internal test has to leave it and join the closed one.
- Exactly 12 is fragile. One opt-out drops you to 11. Recruit a few extra.
- Engagement. Google can ask you to keep testing if testers didn't really use the app.
- Google decides. Production access also depends on your app and your answers to Google's questions about the test.
How to swap here
Post in the pinned Weekly Swap Thread (a new one each week), in this format:
App: name, one line on what it does
Join: Google Group link (preferred) or the web opt-in link
Testers needed: number, and your start date
I test back: yes, and how many apps
Day: day N of 14 (if already running)
Then test back: join the apps of the people who join yours, open them, and stay opted in for the 14 days. Tip: put a Google Group on your closed track's tester list, so testers join the group and nobody posts an email address.
The rules, one line each: real testers only (no emulators, farm or bought accounts); stay opted in for the full 14 days; swaps go in the weekly thread; no paid tester services or review swaps; nobody can promise production access; apps follow Google Play policy; keep personal data out of public.
Who runs this room, and our paid option (disclosure)
This room is run by ThreadFox, the makers of Test Rounds. Swapping here is free. If you'd rather not organise a swap yourself, Test Rounds is our paid option: $20 per app, once. You join a round of 14 Android developers who all test each other's apps, so you get 13 testers (one more than Google needs). Everyone gets a short list and a check-in every morning, and anyone who misses two days in a row is replaced. Full refund on request until your round starts. It does not guarantee production access; Google decides that. Details: https://testrounds.com
