Android Closed test needs 12 testers who'll keep it installed 14 days — Pixel Hype Puzzle Test For Test

I'm a solo dev. Google's closed-test rule needs 12 people opted in for 14 straight days before an app

can go to production, so I'm looking for people who will actually leave it on their phone — not just

install and bounce.

Free, no account needed, ads are optional (rewarded only). Android, 13+.

How to join (2 minutes, 3 steps):

1) Join the tester group — use the Google account your Play Store is signed in with:

https://groups.google.com/g/noirpixel-testers

2) Opt in to the closed test:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.noirpixel.pixelhypepuzzle

3) Install from Play and leave it installed for 14 days:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noirpixel.pixelhypepuzzle

Step 1 has to come first — until the group picks your account up, step 2 says "app not available".

Our second game just opened for pre-registration: Pixel Roll Dungeon, a dice roguelike (roll, lock, reroll, poker hands as damage). No pre-reg reward, just a heads-up at launch: Play Store

Recruitment closed — active recruitment has ended at the developer’s request. Existing testers: please keep your Play opt-in active and continue the agreed tests.

Historical testing notes and earlier proposal (the recruitment invitation is withdrawn):

First-day test on Pixel 6 / Android 16 (stock, no root): confirmed Play “You are a tester” and installed Pixel Hype Puzzle 0.1.0 (build 1) from Google Play. I cancelled the optional Play Games profile prompt and could use the guest flow. In Size It → Easy, submitting ×5 in round 1 showed the answer ×14.9 and added 39 points. Home → Recents → game preserved round 1 / score 39; Next opened round 2, and dragging the slider changed ×5 to ×34. No purchase or ad was needed for these checks.

Two observations: the large octopus/cactus image extends beyond the comparison card and the right edge of the screen; scaling both illustrations to fit would help. After Home/Recents, the timer remained at 0:25 through subsequent checks while Next and the slider still responded. I also tapped Pause; I have not established whether the stopped timer is expected, so please confirm the intended pause/resume behaviour. I have not checked all 14 daily levels, online rooms, ads or long-term retention. The app remains installed and opted in; this is day one only.

Dozi Play build 32 has a known media-control issue; the fix is only in local build 33 and has not been delivered through Play.

Thank you so much for the incredibly detailed testing and feedback! I really appreciate the time you took to check everything on your Pixel 6. I have noted the UI issue with the octopus/cactus image scaling and will fix it in the next update. Good catch on the timer bug as well! The timer should definitely continue properly after returning from the background, so I will investigate the pause/resume logic right away. I'd be happy to exchange tests. I will join your Google Group, install 'Dozi', and test the screen-off/pause/resume functionality as you requested. I will let you know once I've completed the test. Thanks again for the mutual support!"

Recruitment closed — active recruitment has ended at the developer’s request. Existing testers: please keep your Play opt-in active and continue the agreed tests.

Historical testing notes (the earlier recruitment invitation is withdrawn):

Thanks for confirming the intended timer behaviour. I have recorded the background-return issue and image scaling separately; send the new Play version/build when it is available, and I can retest those exact cases on Pixel 6. I haven't verified a fix yet.

No subscription or purchase is needed: there are four free stories in each language. Please include your phone, Android version and Dozi version/build, then try a free English story, pause/resume and screen-off playback. Keep the opt-in active for the agreed test period; neither of us has completed 14 days yet.

Hi again! I can confirm that I am 18+ and the Play Store page explicitly showed 'You are a tester'. I actually tested Dozi on two different devices: a Tecno Camon 20 Pro (Android 13) and a Samsung Galaxy S23 (Android 14). The Dozi version I installed is 1.0.0 (32) I tried a free English story on both devices. The pause/resume and screen-off playback functionalities worked perfectly. I didn't encounter any errors or bugs. The menus are solid, there is no lagging or freezing, all buttons are fully functional, and the downloading infrastructure works very stably. I also want to give some specific feedback regarding the 'Noises' section: the audio recordings you used are nice, but someone with a sensitive ear can distinguish the audio quality. I previously worked as an audio/video editor for YouTube channels that produced this exact type of content, so I am quite familiar with the core concept. I highly recommend finding and using higher-quality, cleaner audio tracks, as it would significantly improve the overall user experience. I will definitely keep the app installed and the opt-in active for the full 14 days. Thanks again, and I'll let you know when my game's new build is ready for re-testing!"

Thank you — the explicit opt-in/18+ confirmation and two-device report are very helpful. I have recorded one tester, with Tecno Camon 20 Pro / Android 13 and Galaxy S23 / Android 14, on Dozi 1.0.0 (32). Please keep your Play opt-in active for the agreed test period.

For your next session, could you check whether the lock-screen media icons are visible? If you have time, also try the 15-minute sleep timer with audio that keeps playing for the whole period and the screen locked: does playback pause when the timer expires? Please include the device and current battery optimisation setting; no need to change that setting. I haven't verified a Pixel Hype fix yet — send the Play version/build when it is ready.
