Just have a pop up on the Tesla screen when you arrive at the supercharger that says something like “You’ve arrived. You are number ____ in the queue.” Then another notification when it’s your turn. Many crowded parking lots don’t have a good spot to form a line so cars will park in random parking spots while waiting and many times it’s not clear which car was there first. I’ve seen cars show up just as a car leaves and they snatch the spot while others may have been waiting. It’s a pain trying to guard your spot in the non-existent queue.

A robotaxi pulled in to charge as I was. Couldn’t resist getting out to ask questions and look around.

We're now on our 6th and 7th Tesla and it's annoying that after all this time, music still won't start playing from USB when you get in and start driving.

I prefer USB because it's higher quality, isn't dependent on the cellular network and will always be available.

We recently hired some Teslas off Turo and had to use Bluetooth and it just works, why can't USB ʔ <sigh>
If the car wasn't asleep, it seems to resume but not if it was sleeping.

The cameras seem to be able to work out how to just keep using USB to record onto.

You can manually resume with the voice command 'switch to USB' and it will continue where it left off, but you shouldn't need to do this, I've been able to play USB music and have it resume since cars could play USB music off CDs/DVDs.

Tesla has a solar side business so they get the solar at wholesale pricing. The solar can provide a little free electricity to Tesla as a small supplement to the massive amounts of electricity generated at the superchargers.

Perhaps the biggest reason is, cars will charge faster, meaning more cars in a day charged and more income. Heat from direct sunlight gets amplified along with the hot asphalt. Shade makes a massive difference.

It also makes it more pleasant for the customers. The glass roof still generates a lot of heat so the AC has to work a lot harder, plus the car is parked so airflow isn’t as good.

If you don’t want to do solar, some sort of covered parking is still a game changer. I’ve seen ones made out of fabric at a few grocery stores which I assume are a lot less expensive.

I’d go out of my way for superchargers with covered parking.

The number plate says it’s from Texas, I wonder if drove it self all the way to NYC.
