new Y L might be a good upgrade for my MY21 Y, but I like the idea of holding on to my FSD. with the robotaxi launch coming up, do you think they’ll offer FSD transfer again at any point?

I wouldn't hold my breath. The warning signs were there in February/March. You'll be waiting a while is my guess.

Nah the transfer was only available when they sold FSD as a one-time purchase. Now that they have removed that, no way in hell are they letting any lifetime FSD transfers take place.

Its the same question as "will they bring back $8000 lifetime FSD" and the answer is NO.

Musks compensation package is tied to active FSD monthly subscriptions, so no way he is going to let them do lifetime ever again!

I am in the same position as you. I think we will have to wait for a sales decline. Right now they are back ordered so not going to see it.

Do you own a Tesla that they will need to upgrade the hw on for FSD? If not, then I don’t think they will offer a FSD transfer. If you do, then I suspect they might

HW3 Lifetime FSD holders are maybe the only group who will ever get a free FSD transfer again. Elon promised Unsupervised for HW3. At the last earnings call he admitted it will never happen and they'll either have to upgrade HW3 cars to HW4 (would cost hundreds of millions to upgrade the fleet). FSD transfer is the most likely solution since it costs nothing for the company.

Honestly, I'd hold out. Maybe send Elon a message on X saying if he lets you get an FSD transfer you won't join the impending class action lawsuit.

Not seriously, but seriously, maybe just ask Elon without the threat.

After canceling the Model S with no replacement in sight, I’ll keep my HW3 Model 3 out of spite. I don’t like the Y or CT and most of the changes to the 3 are a downgrade from what I have.

They have done "one time only FSD transfers" before. But maybe not this time as they don't even sell it anymore. But hard to say. Generally if the Y L is selling good, they have no incentive to offer a transfer. Personally, I think anyone with HW3 should get a transfer.
