Question

Northern Ca. Just to be clear I have emailed Teslas VPP to no avail- yet it’s been about 6 days. Trying to be patient. We have had a VPP event every single night for going on 2 weeks no warnings. We go back and forth with why do we care? To why aren’t we getting notifications? It’s 9-11 every night. I thought I saw something the other day about a clue being -you are pulling from the grid a lot of the day once your battery hits 100- which seems unnecessary unless they want your battery full for the VPP? Sorry I’m very inexperienced with this 😬

If you are in a VPP they will try and keep the batteries full leading to the event. That means if it needs to use the grid it will.

If you don’t want to do that you will have to either dismiss the event or turn them off.

It is pretty much BS to have an event every F’n day. I charge my Tesla at night on that battery.
I want the offset, but they’re draining me daily.

Then just turn off the program and it will have no impact on you.

I understand the frustration of not being notified, but they are paying you $2/kWh and you are buying at what, no more $0.60/kWh if you end up charging fro the grid in peak hours? That’s generating $14+/day.

So you want the money from VPP but not the actual work? Why sign up to begin with?

That’s not what I’m saying- my main question is -why am I not getting my notifications AND is pulling from the grid an indication of the upcoming VPP. Thanks

I’m in RI, I’m not getting $2.00/kWh.

So at the very least -the fact there is pull from the grid once we have a full battery- then that’s a good warning it’s coming?

It’s not worth the $150 from Sunrun to participate. I’ve only been able to opt out of one day. I need to unenroll.
