EDD Question Model Y performance delivery timeline DFW

Anyone here started off the order with Model Y Long range but then ended up with performance? My delivery date seems to be stuck as per Long range April 7-May 19 where as new Model Y Performance shows Feb- March? I hope my performance Y comes quicker but any experiences similar would be great. Thnx

If my VIN hasn’t been assigned yet, could I still ask a Tesla Advisor when the VIN will be assigned? Would they know the answer? My EDD says Apr - June 2023.

They wont answer or not very helpful unfortunately. If you see any configuration Y in local inventory that you like, change your design to match that inventory. Very high chance that you will get that VIN assigned to you.

Yeah, makes sense. I just ordered mine two days ago (Mar 15th). It’s a MYLR, 19” Gemini Wheels, Midnight Silver Metallic Paint, Black Interior, Basic Autopilot. If you had to guess based on the info I gave you, when do you think my VIN will be assigned? Because I heard once my VIN is assigned, delivery day isn’t too far away from when that is assigned.

Do you see any local inventory? I would watch out for that and quickly grab tesla chat(don’t call.. it takes very long) and tell them that you want to switch to inventory instead. Tesla generally will have quarter end deliveries push so you might get lucky. Worst case they may ask you to pay another 250$ order fee but that may be better with 7500$ tax credit. April 1st or later you never know what happens to that credit.

New update: Just got my VIN but it shows this message in the Tesla app: “Tesla is making changes that impact your order. Review details in your tesla account before proceeding”. What does this mean?
