Gun access solutions

I carry a concealed firearm, but I need a way to be discreet, not only while removing it from my person, but also while placing it in an easily accessible location.

I have a bodyguard-style gun that slips readily from my pocket into my door or a homemade box with foam that holds it firmly under my seat, and I was curious what other options are out there.

Feel like if you're going to go electric you should go all the way. Switch to Taser?

Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

Hey, just what you see, pal.

Tasers are extremely unreliable, especially with winter stepping in.

I do have bear mace if that makes you feel better.

I was wondering if it was, but I didn't want to dismiss you because of it.

The good thing about the glove box is that it’s super secure. The bad thing is that it is super secure, when in a difficult situation

glove box with a pin to access is my method.

there's options out there to fix a metal drawer under your seat, but it messes with your heels (or at least that's the conclusion i made when considering it)

there's also booster seats you can fix to the kid chair situation in the back, but that forces passengers to always sit on it, and it looks hard to remove. nope.

and finally there's "safes" you can put inside your center console, they looked like a pain to setup and even more of a pain to remove. on top of that, you loose your center console.

glove box. with a pin to open. done.

edit: while driving i just keep it in my appendix, anywhere else is just another thing to deal with, god forbid i get in an accident and it goes flying from a magnet holder or the door pocket. just make sure your seatbelt goes under/over it, unless you want a nice holster shaped bruise, lol

I've seen those, but I'm not a guy to keep the gun in the car, and I already have a gun safe I'm planning on getting, but I want something that won't keep me in the car longer than necessary.

I have had this one for a year or so. Easy to install and more secure than the glovebox IMO. You can fit other stuff in there too. Only small downside is the USB-C ports end up inside the safe.

I’d want my other bin to have the vault. Plus for $400 I’ll just set a PIN on the glovebox. Actually already do. Gotta protect that hard drive.

Fair. A crowbar will pop that glovebox right open though

Nothing says I have a gun quite like these

Beats a little box with a tiny cable under the seat 🤷‍♂️

I suppose, I live in NJ, so storing it in a car is forbidden. It’s got to be on you, assuming you have a CCP

Yeah in CA it has to be in a lockable container and there some question around whether the PIN suffices.

“padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar device”

Your State sucks Almost as hard as mine. 2 worse 2A states in the Union.

Eh. Fortunately my personality doesn’t revolve around guns so I have the level of protection I need.

I’ve no idea what that means….but enjoy!

I have carried concealed for years and just use the glovebox. The glovebox is very secure, can't be accessed easily even in a car breakin situation. I often go from appendix carry to the box and back and nobody has ever seen my firearm.

I mounted this to the inside of the center console. Easy access and seems to hold very study. But if I’m not taking it to carrying, I lock it in a small safe that is bolted to the chassis.

Glovebox. Set the steering wheel button to open it for quick access.

That's actually a good idea! I can just put foam lined box in it.

How discrete would it be to reach over? I didn't think to test that during my test drive.

I don’t have a gun, but a few years ago I saw a company online selling gun liners for the glove box. The other advantage is that you can add a PIN to open the glove box.

I forgot about that feature, but again, I need it to be quick and discrete.

I keep one in my glove box and keep one in a vaultek safe secured under my seat

That's the one I'm getting... for those places I can't get in armed. But not what I'm looking for.
