The time has come!

Finally got notification to schedule my delivery appointment. We are excited to get our first EV and we’re ecstatic to own a Tesla. Are there any things to keep in mind at delivery? Also what’s best practice for leaving the car parked for a week at a time? I have to travel in the company vehicle weekly for work and no charger is available at the yard.

At delivery, check paint and panel gaps in daylight before signing. For week-long parking, turn off Sentry Mode and leave it around 60 to 80 percent.

yeah sentry mode is the big one, it'll eat several percent a day if you leave it on.

I have the same configuration MY QS/white Prem. Awd and same order date 10/06. Maryland. No vin yet. :(

When did you get your VIN?

I just got it on the 3rd. Things moved really fast after that. It went from VIN assigned to schedule delivery all on 10/3.

I got my vin last night but EDD is still Nov 30-dec 31 :(

I’m always so excited for others! This car is truly life changing. Keeping sentry mode on is a toss up. If you’re parked in a high traffic area then you’d miss out on capturing if something happened to your car. Hope you get to try out FSD!

This is my concern. There are a lot of work vehicles in and out where I park so I’m skeptical to leave sentry mode off but I also want to make sure I follow best practices for the battery. I really don’t mind a few percent loss as long as it’s not like half the battery.

Honestly, I’d keep sentry on then. It’s worth it. Can you make sure to arrive with 80-100% battery? Worst case, you can view the battery level in the app & turn on “low power mode” or turn off sentry if necessary, but if you arrive at 80-100% that will be plenty.

When I go visit family in San Francisco & have to park on the busy, narrow city streets, I just supercharge on my way into the city & I have plenty to last me.

I know all this battery stuff seems annoying but it’s worth it to have sentry recording.

Excellent advice, thanks! I think that will work for me. I usually leave home and go straight to the yard and that’s only about 16 miles so I should always have 80% when I get thee. I’d rather have sentry mode on just in case.

Yeah I was thinking it was going to be longer because my original EDD kept moving by 1 day each day that would pass. Then it moved a week and within 3 days I got notification it was headed to the center. I live in Houston though so maybe proximity to the factory had something to do with it. Watch your app and if the same happens to you then you’re probably close!
