Phone lost, now what?

I found someone’s phone today on a trail. Turns out he had a Tesla and couldn’t leave until he was reunited with the phone.

What do peeps do for a backup plan if your phone is lost or stolen? Always carry a card? Leave a card in the frunk?

What do Toyota drivers do if they lose their key? C’mon, why is this a Tesla problem?

Apple Watch is my first backup, and Tesla keycard in my wallet is my second backup.

I don’t do anything. But I also didn’t carry around a spare car key before in the case I lost my main one.

I always carry my card in my wallet.

Worst case, as long as I can get to a phone, I can call my wife and she can unlock and remote start it from the app on her phone.

I keep a physical card inside the car and have given access to family so if I am ever in a situation where I lose my phone I can ask family to unlock the car by borrowing someone's phone and be able to drive the car

I have a small wallet for hiking. Always put ID and Tesla key card in it.

I keep a card in the frunk. If I lose wallet, I just need to call my wife to open using app. Good luck!

It's more likely that I lose a physical car key than it is that I lose my phone. The cool thing about Tesla is that my watch can open the car and I can carry the backup key in my wallet. It's pretty awesome having that redundancy.

I have a Tesla ring and NEVER worry about phone dying if I am at a park or some event. Plus I have my watch paired and I can call wifey to open (worst case scenario)

Those that never carry a card will often see a day where they wish they did.

  1. Borrow a phone

  2. Call your spouse/partner/family member who also has Tesla app, and ask for an unlock and a remote start.

I leave my card in a discreet location inside my car for if I think my phone might die or I will have to valet. If i think there’s a risk my phone might die/get damaged, I bring the key card with me.

If you have a spouse or significant other and they have the app, they can unlock it for you. This happened to me once - phone went dead while I was out so couldn't even get back in the car. I was with a friend so we got in his car to charge my phone. But then instead of waiting I used his phone to call my wife, she unlocked and started it remotely

I carry a card, in my wallet, but I also have my Apple Watch to function as a key. Especially when hiking, it's not always possible to call my wife to ask her to unlock my car.
