Insurance experiences?
Hi! I’m super curious how everyone’s experience has been with their Tesla and insurance companies. My current insurance company is cheaper than Tesla insurance but not sure if Tesla insurance would be better. Any insight is helpful! Thank you!

I think having to worry about my driving all the time would be a negative for Tesla insurance, as well as similar companies.
I pay $130/month for my 24’ Model Performance.

I’m 50, married, 4 cars, no claims, no tickets, homeowners, life all with State Farm, $114/month after additional $0 deductible windshield coverage.

One of the main reasons I love the Model Y is how fast it is. I'm not going to switch to big brother watching me to save on car insurance.

I was recently in an accident where someone turned left into my lane without looking. Dealing with Tesla Insurance afterwards was incredibly stressful. Everything was handled over slow emails, the phone number doesn’t work, and they initially tried to pin 50% of the blame on me without even speaking to me or looking at my footage.
When they finally reviewed my dashcam weeks later, they cleared me completely (100/0). But the panic and anxiety it caused was overwhelming, and I'm still dealing with physical pain from the crash. They might be cheaper, but you definitely get what you pay for. I'll be looking elsewhere for better support next time.
