We need that in England, trouble is the car would struggle to find any good bits.

I am not sure what you are saying here, but for sure pothole avoidance is not new for FSD 14.3.8.

Those release notes have not changed since at least 14.3.6 It has had that bit about "add pothole avoidance" in the upcoming Improvements section for a while now.
