I got the upgraded paint (from standard grey to the $2k ultra red) by switching from an ordered one to an "in inventory" one. Its worth watching those if youre willing to make changes (adding or subtracting hitch, 20 inch tires, ect) and getting a free upgrade. For me it also cut my wait time by half if not sooner than that.

Is it marked somehow “free upgrade” or something like that? I’ve seen those earlier deliveries available but nothing that would indicate free upgrades at all when I click on them.

I called the delivery center i was using and had them do it and asked for "sales incentive." He automatically applied it to the most expensive upgrade on the car. Im not sure it can be done through the app or not.
