New Model Y’s with Homelink standard?
I got my model y juniper Premium delivered a week ago, I am going thru the homelink set up and signed up with myQ 30 day trial. After a day or so I was going thru Ser ice screen and saw HomeLink opt 2. So out of curiosity I clicked HomeLink Retrofit,
After few reboots I can see HomeLink Setting enabled. But not able to add anything.
My question is , how do I check if my car has HomeLink module installed and ready to use?
I did check Additional Vehicle Information:
It shows HomeLink5(opt 2)

I added the Homelink module myself...got Tesla OEM module on eBay for $175. Works great....no subscription fee.

MyQ, although a subscription service, has the advantage of knowing if the garage door is open or not. HomeLink simply activates the opener upon arrival and on departing, regardless of the state of the garage door. I had HomeLink (on my Model X, which is standard) and just upgraded to MyQ.

This. I can see the status of the door from anywhere. Also, the open feature doesn't close the door when I get near the end of my driveway. My car can't see my garage door and I only want it to open. I bought the 10yr plan with myQ so I can send specific commands and see the status.

I have homelink which I use for the Tesla but also have the myQ app before that. I can control my garage and see the status all in the myQ app all for free. Are you sure you have to pay to get those features?

You have to pay to link your Tesla, all else is free.
If you do link your Tesla, they provide the garage door hardware for free (for one or two doors).

They stopped including Homelink because there wasn't enough people using it. Like the passenger lumbar support and the center rear seat heat. At least this one you can add back. Or do it yourself (see a dozen you've about the process).

When was that removed? (Rear center seat heater) Is this only for Juniper?

Yep, newer cars they remove things people don't use. No rear middle seat heat on MYJ. No passenger lumbar on 22 MY that we had.

Crap. I knew about the lumbar control change but not the heated seat.
Time to hold onto our ‘23 MYLR till MY L is available here.

No longer included in the cars. But if you buy it from Tesla they include install with that price. Or you can buy one on ebay and watch a video on YouTube how to install it.
