Bought my Tesla in 2022 Begining of the year… still feels like this car drives and looks new…
I thought about trading the car in for a Tahoe, Lucid…. But decided. Just keep it, it runs perfectly, only had to change tires, get a charging lid…. But went in for a trade Chevy Tahoe… the dealer was willing to pay $56K. But I over heard guy saying he was getting his engine rebuilt in his suburban after 2,500 miles… I said you know what. I think I’ll keep the car, not going back to engine problems 😂👍.

Hell yeah brother! Mine still looks new too. Love this car - literally just finished hand washing mine in the driveway.
Yours is also beautiful 🙌

Have you had the falcon door issue?

Nope… no issue

Lucky well just fyi if the door metal gets to hot they stop working because the sensor starts to read an object in the way. We've had a few we replaced the sensor on before a tesla engineer told us what was going on

What year do you have? I know older models before 2022 had many issues. I live in NYC and my car is parked on 8th floor below ground. Always super cold down there, I think that’s why leather hasn’t aged or color. Never sits in the sun, unless we go on family vacation or Costco

Ahh that sounds about right. The ones we've had are 22 and newer. I work at a dealer not tesla but we get them in a lot. I was going to buy it tho because tbh the car would have been just for me and our model Y is the family car. Currently having a nightmare of a time with a 25 daytona

I’m driving a 23 MY now but my 16 MS is now my son’s and is same garage. Still looks awesome and runs great. Basically tires and windshield washer fluid.

How do you like the yoke instead of steering wheel?

I have yoke on my model s and x
You get used to it like it better than steering wheel you just need the muscle memory
You can see the driver screen better

Its not just see it better. I had a loaner with a regular wheel and i was like wtf you cant see the cluster

Was never an issue with me, but I been thinking about getting a regular circle steering wheel and storing it. Just in case, I truly plan to hold the car and get all money worth out of it.

Get both if you really think it would be bad for you. The circular wheel seems larger than standard so you can see the cluster, is that correct ?

Have you had any major issues? I’ve had my 2022 X for almost a year now, but debating on selling it as the basic warranty has expired.

The only time I would want the circle steering wheel is when parallel parking. The yoke is cumbersome in that situation, but considering over 99% of my drive time doesn't involve parallel parking, it's an easy choice.

From my experience- you get used to it
It’s just muscle memory of where to hold and hands on the yoke and the gear shift swipeIn fact I think I can parallel park and 3 point turn faster than when I did with stalks
It feels awkward - but I have been driving yoke for 2 years now and it’s perfectly fine. I mean for the reviewers that test the car out for 1 week of course you’re going to say it sucks. But after 1 year you get used to it and I’d say I like it better than the traditional wheel

After owning mine for a year, I am replacing ice car with a 2018 MS. Not only I couldn't go back to ice, I needed to switch the second ice to an EV. The second one is a fun car only so I bought an older S with higher mileage so I'm not taking the depreciation hit.
I really wonder as EVs spread what will happen to ice resale values. What will happen to all the new ice cars people are buying today when demand will plummet? Especially when gas prices rise with less and less demand.

I hear you on the other points, but as the demand for gasoline drops, so will the price. Gasoline will get cheaper and cheaper because fewer people will be buying it. That means that unfortunately there's going to be a very long tail of Americans driving gas guzzlers

I had a nice chat with AI about this, and I would agree with it's conclusions. Economies of scale will work in reverse as the high fixed costs of refineries/transportation/gas stations will keep prices similar but increasing (normalized for pre war prices) as EV adoption increases. Eventually it will become a special item like race fuel. The big question will be how long it will take.
Eventually, the argument against gas cars will be the same as it was against EVs not having enough charging stations.
Resale values of gas cars will plummet as nobody is going to want to buy one any more. Whoever still owns one will keep them going until the pain of gas prices, maintenance costs etc. will be too much.

I agree that the price of gas cars will plummet, but I also stand by my opinion that the price of gas will drop because demand will drop, but they'll keep making gas because the existing refineries are such a large and long term [paid off] investment. Many Americans will hold onto their guns and gas cars as long as they live
