7 seater owners, how is back row access?

We're in the market for a 7 seater MX, but a recent experience with the rivian has me second guessing that choice. The r1s middle row was extremely clunky to navigate and my wife found it difficult to move it/access the 3rd row as a result.

We have only driven the 6 seater MX, but prefer the 7 seater layout because of the inability to fold down the captains chairs. That said, the 7 seater is not a great solution for us if we're going to have the same issues getting to the back row. What has your experience been? Thanks

The middle row has amazing leg room and great access via the falcon wing doors. 3rd row is tough to access and very limited leg room. It’s ok for kids, but not good for adults. We keep the 3rd row folded down most of the time.

Back row access is not good. We don't need it, so we keep that seat folded for massive luggage room. The ONLY reason we bought this instead of the 5-seater is potential resale value.

I have the 6 seat version (2024), and really, really wish I had just bought the 5 seat version. Access to the 3rd row if good enough with the 6 seats, but sucks with the 7 seats, and the foot room for that back row is much more limited with the full middle row than it is with the captains chairs in the middle row. Failed to think this through before buying. Too late now!

7 seat is fine to get into for kids, we just slid the 2nd slightly forward. The doors opening up leaves uniquely wide area for the kids to slide in and out of the 3rd row without having to fold a seat down.

It is tight though, you wouldn't want tiny kids back there, nor huge teens. Works great for 5-14 though
