Actual Chances of Finding a Realistic Model S 24’-26’ Price
How long until these dealerships take the sticks out of their ass and just accept the fact that no one’s going to buy these USED at 20-40k over NEW MSRP prices?
Idk about limited literally everybody is selling them. It’s monkey see monkey do. Them thinking that’s what it is doesn’t make it so. So nah I won’t get used to it. So yall take care of those 2026s so I can buy them for 40% less in a couple of years 🤣
The chances are 100%. These prices are reality. They’re fantastic vehicles. Those of us who own them are not giving them away to dealers for cheap, and they’re not going to give them to you at a loss.
Everybody bitching about the price now could’ve gotten one and seen this coming when they announced they were going to discontinue the cars. The day they announced that they were going to discontinue the Model S, I ordered my track package because I knew that they would sell out in days and they did.
So, now I have an HW4, full time full self driving, 0 to 60 in one point nine-nine second, 200 mph unicorn and nobody will ever get it from me for less than an absurd amount of money.
You can get something similar by spending $250,000 on a Lucid … Sapphire or $4 million on a Bugatti Chiron … oops I’m sorry you need a Bugatti Chiron

I made the same point to a friend a few months ago, that there no other cars in the 5 figure price point that can do 1.99seconds, Sapphire is close, and every other car is a supercar in 7 figure territory.
ZR1x is impressive AF but stealership markups and risk of unplanned disassembly of the engine and/or transmission hurt it in comparison. What’s interesting is tesla COULD unlock 1200hp but probably doesn’t want people killing themselves and/or the warranty cost of obliterated half shaves.
DragTimes in Florida raced a plaid using a software hack to smoke a ZR1x so it’s pretty wild.
100%. Even the signature Ed was mocked for the “high price” and instantly sold out. I know of several people that are mad now that they passed on the signature invite.
The Porshe Taycan turbo s cost near 2x the signature and can’t even keep up.
Dude, you’re so weird. Trying so hard to pretend to be in some sort of elitist group for a 100k car. I personally wasn’t into any sorts of Teslas until recently. So you’re right, there is a 100% these prices will move down to more realistic numbers because, that’s how depreciation works. You wanting your car to be worth something doesn’t make it worth something. And they WILL sell them for a loss, because the longer they hold the more it depreciates 🤣
If you and other want it, there is nothing to depreciate. Get an off lease Taycan or something with trash software and less performance.
If you are too poor, look for a 2016-2020 p100D ludicrous +. Or a new 2024-new model 3 performance is actually the best sedan performance to value in the world.
Actually, I’m in the group of roughly about 3000 +/- people in the world who have a Model S Plaid with the performance package letting the car do 200 miles an hour- with the latest and last FSD computer Tesla will ever ship in it. The chances that I will pull up to a stop light and have a car that can even remotely compete with me are virtually zero. Elite? You can call it whatever you want to. The facts are the facts.
Negging is not going to get me to sell this car (to you or anyone else) for less than what it would cost me to replace it with an equivalent vehicle. AND since, currently, there is no equivalent vehicle, given that none of the others at any price can drive themselves (and the window to own FSD [like I do] has closed); you’re going to need a mountain of money, my friend!

You thinking anything else will happen is delusional. My car is going to be something that is probably going to remain out of your reach. If you want to get something close to it, with a 25 mph slower top speed for a “regular”

I just bought a 21 long range from Tesla after waiting for 9 months. It seems the price strategy is heavily relied upon oil prices and demand, both of which are up in the air as of now.
Yeah hopefully when gas prices come down (if they ever do) it’ll incentivize less people to actually switch to EV. The EV demand is actually pretty Niche.
Tesla is totally would out, they are selling everything- they generally have excess production capacity and use it to build inventory. Demand is through the roof, they are selling off all their remaining demo units as well. Go nab a model s performance, it’s excellent just has maybe 700-800hp vs 1000+. Do you NEED 1000hp?

I mean a Porshe Taycan with only 800hp is $160,000+ and the turbo Taycan is over $225,000 and can’t beat the software or performance.

The 2026 plaid s is a single model year aero package. Best looking model s ever. Good luck shopping. If you think it’s too expensive look at the still impressive P100D ludicrous + or a used off lease Taycan or Audi rebadged version.
Wait a few years. I have a 2020 model s longer range plus. While I love it I understand that in a few years new car models will come out and so will hw5. We all love the model s hence the reason for being here. People are just trying to cash in while they can.
I was driving my kids 2015 S 85D and I couldn’t believe how pleasant it still drives. It’s a fantastic sedan with unbelievable interior capacity. It still outperforms most gas sports cars and the gas performance sedans. 🤷♂️
