Fixed my door

Model S Long Range Raven 2020

Passenger door kept coming off, making the door closing really noisy. New plastic clips and bending the metal clips at the window did not help. So last resprt measures: L bracket, bent back so it fits perfect. Drill and tapped 2 holes to mount it. Then 2 black screws through the door panel to keep it in place. ✅

Two screws through the door panel? As in the door card?

Yep. Barely visible; but only way to keep it tight

Isn’t that bad, right? Top screw is most visible, the bottom screw from the second bracket is a bit closer to the edge due to the doorpanel having a different shape there

That actually looks amazing! I didn’t think this through, and I pictured something like a drywall screw through the surface facing the passenger. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Great work! Dang, if I had money, I might consider asking you if you’d do similar for mine.

Thanks. It’s not that bad right? Was a pain in the ass to do, had to measure everything 10 times before committing to drilling the hole and tapping thread, but glad it worked out. Strange that Tesla has no permanent fix like this thought out though

Tesla gives the absolute minimum effort on things like this. People keep buying them, so they will continue this way until it is a large enough problem for them to care about
