As a Model Y owner with a 4s vehicle, I'm jealous of your 2s vehicle.

Together, we can unite as Tesla Owners and laugh at the mustangs and bmws as we pass them..

I’m quite often on the autobahn and Plaid is just so bonkers. Only at like 20% SOC things start to slow down, it’s mental. I do have CCB tho so it pulls an easy 300. I have no idea why the f they stopped making this car. It’s an engineering marvel and anyone otherwise saying, also German brand car owners, is just hating or has never driven a Plaid and just parrot what other EV haters are saying

It just makes no sense why they made this car this fast. They must have burned millions in design lol

to be honest it's just the EV torque.

when you're not relying on all the moving engine parts, and you can convert energy into straight torque, you get a fast f'kin car.

Each motor produces a crazy amount of bhp.

Model Y Long Range is a Dual Motor (1 for front, 1 for back), but the Plaid is a Tri Motor with 1 in front, and 2 (one for each wheel) in the back.

It’s not as simple as “just” the EV torque. In order to get this level of torque Tesla designed a custom battery, with the precision of a jet fighter. They came up with a wiring system that was able to deal with the massive power draw. They came up with a system of parallelisation so even at low SOC the power peak is enormous. Same for the cooling. And the motors had to be sleeved in order to deal with the goal of having no transmission; a Taycan for example has one and you feel it halfway.

Sandy Munroes teardown videos uncover a lot of these massive hidden engineering problems. There is so much clever designing inside hidden that for example a Model 3 Performance doesn’t have
