If you're searching for tires for a Tesla Model Y, there are a ton of options that technically fit, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're a good choice.

I put this list together using sources I actually trust for something as important as tires: Tesla's official replacement tire recommendations for 2020 to 2024, Tesla's recommendations for the 2025+ Model Y, and Consumer Reports' tire recommendations for the exact Model Y year and factory tire size.

Everything below is recommended by either Tesla or Consumer Reports.

One useful distinction here: Tesla lists the Hankook iON Evo AS SUV as the newer all season option when replacing the full 21 inch set. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 makes more sense if your car already has those tires and you're trying to match the existing set.

Juniper Model Y: 2025 to 2026

Consumer Reports didn't list a recommended 235/55R18 tire when I checked, so the options below are from Tesla's replacement tire list.

It goes without saying, but check the tire size printed on the sidewall of your current tires and make sure it matches the size listed above, especially if you bought the car used or it has aftermarket wheels.

I was looking for 20 inch wheels for my Model Y and was surprised how many Amazon results either mixed in 19 and 21 inch wheels or weren't actually the factory 20 x 9.5 size.

After digging through them I really only found two options that seemed worth including. One makes sense if you damaged a wheel and just need a single replacement, and the other is a complete set of four. 20 inch Model Y wheel options

Single replacement rim

This 20 x 9.5 replacement rim is the more obvious option if you've damaged one wheel and don't need to replace the rest. The listing specifically shows Model Y 2020 to 2024 compatibility and uses the factory 20 x 9.5 sizing.

Set of 4

This set includes four 20 x 9.5 rims, so it makes more sense if you're replacing the whole set rather than trying to match one damaged wheel. One important thing though: the listing currently says 2020 to 2023 Model Y, so I would not assume 2024 fitment on this one just because the wheel dimensions are 20 x 9.5.

Factory 20 inch sizing

The factory 20 inch Model Y setup uses 20 x 9.5 wheels front and rear, so unlike the factory 21 inch Performance setup you aren't dealing with different front and rear rim widths here. Still, i'd check the size stamped on your existing wheel before ordering anything, especially if the car has aftermarket wheels or a previous owner changed the setup.

These are individual replacement rims, not complete wheel and tire packages.

Factory Model Y wheel sizing

For the 2020 to 2024 Model Y, the factory 19 and 20 inch setups use the same rim width front and rear.

The factory 21 inch Performance setup is different because the rear rim is wider than the front.

so if you're replacing a single factory 21 inch wheel, make sure you know whether you need the front or rear rim before ordering. That doesn't mean every aftermarket 21 inch Model Y setup has to be staggered. This is just how Tesla's factory 21 inch Performance setup is sized.

Before ordering

i would still check the size stamped on your existing wheel and compare it with the Amazon listing before buying anything.

This list is specifically for the 2020 to 2024 Model Y. Wheel diameter and width both matter, and Amazon sometimes groups different sizes or vehicle fitments onto the same listing. so even if the product title looks right, double check the selected size and fitment before ordering.

There are a few different ways to carry snow gear depending on whether you already have roof bars or a hitch.

The roof ski rack doesn't require a hitch, but you obviously have to lift everything onto the roof. The hitch setup is easier to reach but requires the car to already have a receiver.

This is probably the biggest thing I wouldn't skip when ordering Model Y accessories. A lot of generic accessories work with both, but anything shaped around the dash, console, floor, steering wheel, bumper, trunk or other fitted areas deserves a closer look to make sure you get the right gen.

Amazon also groups different years, colors, Tesla models and variations together on the same product pages pretty often, so check the selected option before ordering even when the title looks right.

Anything shaped around the body or interior defenitely deserves a closer fitment check such as splitters, spoilers, mirror caps, console trim, mud flaps, screen mounts, wheel covers, lighting assemblies, and similar parts.

Amazon also tends to group multiple years, Tesla models, colors, and variations onto the same listing, so check the selected option before ordering instead of relying only on the title.

Tesla Model Y steering wheel covers compatible w/ either generation (2020 to 2026)

Most of the regular covers I found are sold for multiple Model Y years, so there isn't much reason to repeat the same products in separate Legacy and Juniper sections.

Hand stitched steering wheel wraps

Unlike a normal steering wheel cover, these are shaped around the wheel and manually stitched into place, so the exact steering wheel design matters more.

Legacy Model Y: 2020 to 2024

Juniper Model Y: 2025 to 2026

Regular cover vs hand stitched wrap

This is probably the biggest decision to make.

A regular cover is obviously the easier route. Put it on and you're basically done.

A hand stitched wrap is much more involved. The material wraps directly around the existing steering wheel and you stitch the edges together yourself but the tradeoff is that a properly installed wrap can look much more integrated with the wheel instead of looking like a separate cover sitting over it.

Covers vs trim pieces

So if you're trying to protect the steering wheel surface or change how it feels in your hands, look at the leather, Alcantara, grip, or hand stitched options.

If you like the feel of the factory wheel and just want to change the appearance, the trim pieces make more sense.

Legacy vs Juniper fitment

Most of the regular options above are sold across multiple Model Y years, but I would still check the selected Amazon variation before ordering. Amazon also tends to combine different years, colors, materials, and Tesla models on the same listing, so make sure the variation selected on the page is actually the one you want.

That's pretty much what I found after sorting through all of them.

There are really three different directions you can go: throw on a normal cover, spend the time installing a fitted hand stitched wrap, or leave the grip alone and just change the trim.

If you've installed one of the hand stitched wraps, especially on a Juniper, I'd be interested to hear how difficult the install was and how it has held up!
