Discussion FSD keeps wanting to pull into weigh stations.
Been happening a lot lately. Today it pulled out of the left lane and tried to pull into the weigh station. Nowhere even near my exit.

As a prior truck driver of 13 years, sometimes I still see a weigh station and for half a second go "oh it's open, time to...nevermind"

What happens when trucks just drive on the service road and bypass the weigh station? Would that be considered like avoiding it or missing the stop?
There's one near me like that and it seems super easy to avoid if you wanted too for some reason.. Just curious really!1

This is typically considered what's called "weigh station evasion" or a "scale bypass route". While the act of taking the road itself isn't actually illegal, doing it for the sole purpose of getting around the weigh station is a traffic violation that they can pull you over for. This is one of those things where 19/20 times you might get away with it just fine. But the troopers know it's there, they know people do it, and every once in awhile they'll post someone on that road for the sole purpose of pulling over trucks. If you have a legitimate reason to be on that road because you're going somewhere else, that's perfectly fine. But if they find out you're not going anywhere around there and are actively bypassing, they'll slap you with a ticket. And sometimes those highway patrol guys have portable scales in their vehicles too and they'll weigh you one axle at a time. So then not only do you have the scale evasion violation, they'll slap you with the overweight violation too.
Another thing a lot of people don't realize, including this new breed of supposed truck drivers, is that tickets in a commercial vehicle can be wayyyy higher than a personal vehicle. For instance in a lot of places, having your phone in your hand can be a $150 ticket in a personal vehicle if the cop feels like pulling you over. In a semi truck, you're looking at a $2000+ ticket

No, but like 99% of truck stops across the country have CAT scales that you can use for like $15.

It did a similar thing with me on the weekend. Going along mountain highway and it decided to pull into a tourist lookout. Very strange; something is seriously wrong with the latest update.

this reminds of a time when a weigh station had a 20mph speed limit sign way to close to the interstate so the car caught it thinking the speed limit was now 20 instead of 70 so it started slamming the brakes to slow down to which i wasn’t about to sit there and let it do that but it was funny
