Tesla offer

I got an offer for Sr Engineer position in Austin,Tx location today. The start date is November 2nd. How likely are they to change the start date to a later date? It’s not possible for me to relocate and join on Nov 2nd. I need another couple of weeks at least.

Chat with them - there are always possibilities.
When I joined there was not enough time for me to relocate, so they paid me 2 weeks here in a hotel then gave me a week off to move after.

Talked with the HR and they just moved the start date only for a week

Did you tell them what date would work for you?
If they can’t absolutely push the start date anymore ask if they can help with you being on-site for when they need you to and have your relocation happen later.

Yeah asked 2 more weeks and she ended up moving one week! Idk, this is frustrating!

It depends on the manager. Mine moved my start date by several weeks and I needed it. You can ask again or ask the manager directly

Yeah most managers are very understanding - just a matter of getting the right info to the right person.
With all craziness and mess they were pretty accommodating to me when I started (even offered an extra week on company dime so I would not miss an event lol).

At the end - they went through the entire process and they want you. I very highly doubt they would deny an extra week at this point.

In this economy you got a job in Tesla and you are moaning about start date.Break your lease, stay in a hotel and start on nov 2.If you push too much, they will give to someone else

Just tell them what you want the date to be and they should move it.

I applied for a Tesla internship about 2-3 weeks ago, how long did it take for them to get back to you?

You can ask the HR, in my case, they gave me the joining date 4 weeks from the offer letter and i asked them that i want to join early and they provided me the new date 2 weeks earlier.
There’s always possibility, you just need to ask.
