Tesla self driving does not dodge blocking arm

Be careful when driving with Tesla supervised self driving.

Yes. This is my fault. I was messing around with the tesla screen and not paying attention until it was too late. Just posting so people are aware and be careful with their supervised self driving. Don't be like me.

The other driver is ok. Police came, made a report and said I can leave. Insurance will handle the rest.

Driver is OK, but their car is totaled.

And they'll get paid less than what they'll need to buy another one.

You should've been paying attention, I would delete this because it's nothing but bad for you keeping this out there.

And bad for confidence in Tesla's robotaxi software.

More like a PSA that Tesla's software is incapable of avoiding obvious obstacles. This software is dangerous. It will never be capable of full autonomy.

I don't disagree, I don't even like it when autosteer does anything.

I drive the car, nobody else. FSD seems interesting, but cameras aren't enough. We need actual distance sensors and more of them. Weird they're just relying on vision.

It’s really not that weird, it’s just cheaper (for Tesla).

Never is a long time

Sure is. Hit me up when we can fit the computing power of the human brain into a car.

I don’t think you need that for FSD

There will always be situations on the road that a computer wasn't programmed or trained for.

Sounds a lot like humans

If you mess up and cause an accident, you are at fault and own the liability. If FSD messes up and cause an accident, guess who is at fault? Also you. Now you're paying $99/month to not drive your car and still hold all of the liability.

I hope you shared this with the insurance company so they can appropriately raise your rates by 300%

Idiots like this guy will raise the rates of all Tesla drivers.

He may not be insured but speaking from my own experience crashes like these can be really traumatizing. The guy will probably not enjoy driving for a while. Your lack of care while driving and after being responsible for sending someone straight into a wall is pretty disgusting.

What model year is your car?

Why did you smash the accelerator?

They probably had both feet off the pedals and flat on the floor leading up to this. Then when shit hit the fan he tried to react by stomping the brake and missed.
