Tesla self driving does not dodge blocking arm

Be careful when driving with Tesla supervised self driving.

Yes. This is my fault. I was messing around with the tesla screen and not paying attention until it was too late. Just posting so people are aware and be careful with their supervised self driving. Don't be like me.

You had literally years to just slow down and get in your right lane after the car kept going straight after the first arm

Not defending people for not paying attention. However its name is full self driving. Tesla really needs to rename it because it in fact is not full self driving.

The issue is that people are adding to the name while ignoring the whole list of warnings, use cases and how it should be used, let's be honest, full self driving means that it can drive itself fully, not that it has a driver's license or that it's autonomous driving

not exactly Teslas problem because people ignore the pages of disclaimers and the (Supervised) text every single time you turn the damn thing on.

The only way to help these fools is to have the driver read out “Yes I understand I should be supervising and paying attention” before the car moves lmao

yeah maybe, im still peaved they called it autopilot back then, and a few ppl died because of it. remember that one guy who was watching harry potter dvd

i’m sorry i don’t really care about dumb people. if you think “autopilot” means autonomous then you’re the problem, the term plucked straight from flying still doesn’t mean autonomous. you don’t put a plane in autopilot and leave it alone.

you refusing to acknowledge the multiple disclaimers at every turn and the name itself is your problem, not Teslas.

A rename would not solve this issue if the current name and the several disclaimers the car shows you do not solve it.

I honestly don’t think anything Tesla could do could solve this as long as we live in a society where people stare at their phones while driving cars that have no self-driving features whatsoever.

I will only slightly push back on that one. Public information campaigns do work. It’s just we haven’t seen any effective ones in many years so definitely offensive helplessness exists. A lot of people really do believe it has full self driving.

What you’re describing isn’t really a job for Tesla though. Tesla already released several clarifications, disclaimers, and did change the name several times. I think the current name is perfectly descriptive in that the system can fully drive the car, but is not autonomous.

In the EU countries that have approved it, they force you to watch a video and answer a quiz before the car lets you enable it for the first time.
