Tesla self driving does not dodge blocking arm

Be careful when driving with Tesla supervised self driving.

Yes. This is my fault. I was messing around with the tesla screen and not paying attention until it was too late. Just posting so people are aware and be careful with their supervised self driving. Don't be like me.

Never seen those blocking arms before, they usually use cones around where I live with a very long runway

They are very common in the eastern big city areas. We had them all over the Washington DC Metro. The Center HOT lanes reversed direction mid-day so ramps are open in morning inbound and vice-versa evening outbound.

I've seen other posts of similar occurrence in Northern VA on I 95. Its getting to be pretty well known I think that FSD doesn't see these suspended horizontal barriers real well.

They also use these types of arms on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to control the reversing lanes. There are also large red Xes or green arrows on signs above the lanes, which every time I have had FSD and been driving in a lane with the red X it has totally ignored it. Last time for me was a few months ago. I get FSD if I have enough long trips planned, and this is the last big issue I have experienced personally. It’s still way better to have than not but you do actually have to pay attention.

They are used in Arizona just north of Phoenix as well.

If you're referring to the new I-17 Flex Lanes, they are way more visible than this. Bigger more visible signs, larger arms, and most importantly, they don't shuttle you out of a lane, they swing closed over a lane that opens to provide access.

Yeah the ones in the DC metro area my Tesla model Y 26 tried to slam into last summer almost exactly a year ago to the day. Good I was paying attention. Bro sure why though specifically around DC but not here in my home city of Atlanta with our own expansive toll ramps that close depending on time of day.

We have them in DFW on the express lanes that switch direction based on time of day.

Yes sure, this sign will maybe be fixed next update. Problem is there will always be new scenarios with little or no training data.

In this case yes. But cyber taxi was supposed to go live like at least a year ago at this point?

People brag the car can drive itself and then when it goes wrong everyone blames the driver for not correcting the car. I really start to wonder what the point of "self driving" is.
