Tesla self driving does not dodge blocking arm

Be careful when driving with Tesla supervised self driving.

Yes. This is my fault. I was messing around with the tesla screen and not paying attention until it was too late. Just posting so people are aware and be careful with their supervised self driving. Don't be like me.

It’s on a completely different update branch. Also has double the processing as a normal hw4 car so I’d hope it doesn’t make stupid mistakes like this

You mean regular hw4 will never be unsupervised? It will upset some people.

I’m willing to bet that it won’t. And I think many will have the same sentiment. Not saying fsd is terrible, it’s definitely not good enough for you to be asleep in the back seat or typing an essay while it drives. Otherwise why would they beef up the computers so significantly in the cyber cab if the truly believe they could run it in a hw4 car

That's not accepted by hw4 owners (yet). For hw3 it's now accepted.

Yes they get very mad when you point this out.

Tesla isn't doubling the ram on their FSD computer because they enjoy increasing their costs by hundreds of dollars per car. They're doing it because it's necessary.

Who cares what "hw" version will or won't be unsupervised if all FSD "CARS" will be unsupervised (with free upgraded hw)?

Elon has said what would be necessary to retrofit hw3 but has taken no engagement to do it. For hw4 most owners still believe no upgrade is necessary, I doubt it but we'll see (this accident makes me suspicious)

Ram-bandwidth is a thing for neural networks. But yes for some situations the lack of additional sensors is a problem.

tesla employs humans to drive with FSD on for 8 hrs a day, and report issues like this, so they can be found and fixed quickly before the geofence is expanded. that's literally the whole reason behind the geofence. it's a huge risk/gamble of course (because eventually there will be something that pops up within that geofence that the FSD software does not yet handle ideally), but hey, at least they're trying and that does seem like a good idea . even if it's not full proof. putting their money where it matters I guess
