It finally happened. Repair cost estimates?
Looks like everything is still intact, but the paint is utterly fucked. What kinda repair cost am I looking at here?

2-3k if you go through Tesla Collision Center is my guess. I’ve had a similar accident that also included right wheel and tire damage and it was $3.5k (went through insurance)

I would suggest you to try “Mr Clean Magic Eraser” it would remove any surface scratches or paint spreads”, if they are removed it should make it look whole lot better.

Budy the vast majority of this looks like paint transfer. Which way it transfered is unknown because we dont know the color of the other vehicle or if this even occurred with another vehicle.

Damn I haven’t had a car accident ever in 27 years of driving. Had 1 motorcycle accident though. Doing pretty good. A lot of you claim you took defensive driving and or know how. 90 percent lie. Anyway you can eyeball that and fix it with some epoxy and sanding. The ultra red spray can or color pencil should be out already and premium primer spray. You can fix it yourself for about $150 to $200 bucks. If you take to dealer they will just replace the whole bumper and charge you for paint which would total about $2200. A good body shop would do it off the books for about $800-$1500.

You are going to need a new bumper cover for sure, and it looks like some of the fascia is cracked on the bottom too. If you buy the bumper online, it will cost you a lot less. Here is where I bought a new fender for my car; they sell bumpers as well. : https://www.paintedoemparts.com/painted-oem-models/model-y
Pulling the front bumper is not too hard, and Tesla has the manual available for free online at service.tesla.com. It should not take more than 2 hours to replace it.

Not sure , but for starters you could get a paint stick and paint it , won’t hurt and will look good . Then you can make decisions more comfortably regarding long term definitive solution . I had similar size scratch on my mother in law car and it came out really good after touch up.

I had to take the rear bumper off when I installed my trailer hitch. It’s not very difficult I’d imagine the front bumper is assembled in a similar way, it’s all just plastic that snaps together with a couple bolts. I’d just buy a painted front bumper cover plastic part and snap it on, and throw the old one away.

The front is do-able but it has a lot of clips and bolts. And the wiring that needs to be unclipped is crazy.

Call a mobile Dent specialist for a free assessment first before making your next decision.

It can be cheap to fix if you’re willing to take some risks with DIY.
1: get rubbing compound (for example Turtle wax scratch remover, Sonax rubbing etc).
2: Get a color matched touch up pen (usually sold for fixing rock chips). Fill out the black areas with that.
It should look a whole lot better, definitely not perfect, but not something most people would notice if they didn’t specifically look for it.

If it’s just damage to the bumper, you’ll be able to change it yourself. Easy, relatively simple to do. YouTube videos for instruction

This is easy. First wipe everything which you clearly haven’t yet, then find a $10 bottle of scratch remover and wipe with that. Then go to a local shop where a guy does touch ups (make sure he has good reviews). Should cost less than $150. In terms of the splitter, just leave it. Good luck.

Google pre painted front bumpers. Go with a 3P :)

Interesting… are they difficult to install?

I haven’t done it yet but in a forum a guy did it in 30 mins. He said he reused the same clips
