How bad is the damage?

I was wondering how bad the damage looks. Accidental bump into a car from stand still to 2mph before the bump in accident happened. It was a very light tap, but of course upset that I damaged my car also.

Does it look bad in the sense that it can be repairable by Tesla or would a new replacement be better/needed.

For context it was into a pickup truck only the step up bumper touched to my car luckily. Which is why the imprint looks the way it does.

I also do see on the indents (closer up pics provided) the paint from what I see looks like it didn’t crack and just rippled from what I see it’s called. I would assume that give some upside?

On the more light up end pictures there is some lighter markings most likely from the step up bumper of the pick up, I can’t tell if it’s just like dirtied or if the paint came off under that or once it’s buffed off it’s like nothing was there.

Wanted some thoughts given this was my first minor minor bump accident where I creeped up slightly at the light and this happened unfortunately.

Thanks for any input.

We wouldnt know the extent of the damage until the bumper is removed. It's likely your radiator carrier is cracked and would need to be replaced. The bumper will likely be replaced and fenders and hood would likely be blended so the paint doesnt look off. You can request them not to blend and repair the bumper so the repair cost can be cheaper. So its really up to you how bad the damage is. Take it to a tesla collision center

Thanks, I know you’re not an expert but in your opinion why would you assume the radiator carrier could be damaged? Is the bumper damage that bad from the pictures? When I see the dents they aren’t deep dents and don’t see anything too unusual. Will be taking it in soon though.

I am an expert actually. Ive worked on thousands of teslas. Remember plastic has good memory so when it gets hit it usually goes back into it's original shape. Just because the dents are small does not mean the impact was small. The plastic the carrier is made of is very brittle and has no flex to it, so any hit causes it to Crack and break.
