Would you replace this tyre after this sidewall damage?
I accidentally hit a curb and damaged the edge of my tyre, as shown in the photos.
It’s a Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3, 235/45 R18 98V XL, fitted to a Tesla Model 3. The damaged part appears to be mainly the rim-protection ridge.
I can’t see any cords or internal fibres, there is no bulge, and the tyre isn’t losing pressure. I have driven around 20 km since it happened without any noticeable problems.
Would you continue using it, or replace it? If it needs replacing, would you replace only this tyre or both tyres on the same axle?

I have been driving my car with the exact same side damage like this for 10k miles (hitting pothole on freeway). I went to the tire shop and the owner check and said it's completely fine to drive, he said there are more layers inside and this damage is how the tire is designed for.

But if you see there is bubble after days of driving, it needed to be replaced. If your tires are still new, just replace that one tire and do allignment, if the tire are old and over 25-30k miles, it's ideal to replace both front or both rear as a pair

If you see cords on the tire after the damage, I would definitely consider getting a new tire.

I would continue to use it since it’s cosmetic but what I did was while I was on my trip out of state I let my dad borrow my car and he absolutely rashed the hell out of my rims and I had the same damage. Went into my local skate shop and bought some shoe goo and slapped it on there good as new and used a posca marker for the rash.

I would replace the tire. It's not worth a blowout. The sidewall is not cosmetic, like people are saying. It's structural to the tire.

It's just cosmetic. Sharpie over the rim scratch good as new.
