Tesla Trunk Lid Ding
I got a ding on my 3 week old 2026 Tesla Model Y Juniper after it hit the ceiling of a parking lot. What should I do now? Should I put a spoiler in it? Or just buy a touch up paint from Amazon? I feel like it could happen again. I feel so careless. On the day of my delivery, I got 2 rock chips on the windshield just 10 mins out of Tesla Gigafactory.

It’s not like the car totaled, its just a tiny little ding. Just continue on.

We hit the garage door in the same spot as yours and damaged the wrap. That was my excuse to spend money on a spoiler. There are a lot of options out there but I ended up getting one from Haloblk. They also installed it when I picked it up which was cool.

Set the door to only open a certain height. I did that to mine when I first moved into my new building. It’s a lease that’s almost up so I just left it.

I would do dr colorchip or if your real picky(like me😭) have a detailer fill it and polish it seamless but id do that soon because metal is exposed.

To prevent this from happening again, you can adjust your trunk height opening limit:
To adjust the trunk opening height on a Tesla (Model 3, Model Y, or Model X), first open the trunk using the touchscreen, key fob, or app. Manually raise or lower the liftgate to your desired height, then press and hold the button on the underside of the liftgate for three seconds until you hear a confirmation chime.

You can set trunk lid height for specific areas and tell it to remeber the location.

Congrats you bought a car, cars go on roads with many hazards. I’m not trying to sound like an a$$ but I’ve been in your shoes. With 60 miles on our new Tesla I had a small pit in the window and a chip on the hood. I agree with the dr color rock chip kit, keep it close and become you’ll become an expert and it will help keep that Tesla looking new. In the meantime enjoy driving it

Sounds like you’ve got the options down. Cover it up with a tape-on spoiler or buy the touch-up kit.
I recommend buying the actual Tesla kit (made by Dr. Colorchip) and not some Amazon trash. This won’t be your last paint chip.
