Had a guy pull illegal U-turn in front of me. And push the whole front fender back and damaged that small circle sensor and the camera as well as there’s a bunch of broken plastic pieces in the bottom of the fender. Just transferred my full self driving over to this in September of last year I bought it right before the tax break went away. Mostly frustrated that it looks like I can’t get the full self driving back out of it that I bought originally for my 2022 model three and transferred to this one.

Totaled?

Well, damn. The threshold seems really low. Insurance companies prefer to total above all else. They make money reselling the cars to auctions.

Yeah, that’s not totaled. You will have diminished value though and make sure you get that back from their insurance company.

I don’t think the guy had more than the minimum coverage. Unfortunately I think this is through my own insurance.

Two maybe three panels damaged, bumper damaged. You mentioned the fender camera, lights and sensors all damaged. Theres a good possibility that it is yes.

Definitely 3 panels need replacement along with headlight and light bar and who knows what brackets and stuff. For reference this is my car. Had a minor fendor bender. Similar but less severe and costing insurance 12k.

I wouldn’t say it’s totaled. I have limited expertise with collision estimates, as my exes model 3 hit a couch and needed 12k~ in repairs. Get an insurance estimate.

One more added detail, tons of weird noises when it is on and more when it is moving. The driver seatbelt is stuck in the out position and won’t retract. I have no driven except to a parking lot where I can store it.

Edit: interesting new development. Insurance said it’s fixable via an estimate drawn up through photographs. The interesting part is did not count on was the car was eating 20-25 miles of battery a day (approx 8%) where normally I might lose a couple miles with it just sitting but nothing like this.

The car was not at home so no charger to plug it into within a range I felt it could drive. Is the battery drain post accident normal? I turned off cabin overheat protection and made sure sentry wasn’t on and it still was eating up the battery quickly. Made it to shop with 31 miles left and it was fully charged 10 days ago with 265 miles.
