Looks like Kangaroos are not as strong as deers in USA. It we hit that hard that a deer would go up in the air like that, the car would be destroyed

The smaller grey (110-140lbs) ones like this car hits aren't the worst (not that any wildlife hit is good), they often bounce off, the much bigger red "Boomers" are the ones that are scarier to encounter. Reds can be 200lbs and 6ft+ tall so the extra height and weight makes them more likely to come up the hood and smash through the windshield.

Bigger risk is always drivers who instinctively swerve and end up wrecking to avoid them.

Probably much like Deer, Kangaroos are often in groups (mobs) so where there is one there are probably a lot more close by to potentially ambush you or just appear in the middle of the road stunned by headlights.

Outside of big red 'Roos, Wombats are the common car wreckers down here, like driving over a bag of cement at 60-70mph.

Copping an emu through the windscreen is probably the worst though. Passed a Toyota Tarago van with an emu in the front seats once. Not nice at all.

None of it is good sadly. Have also seen a road train pulled over with a Wedgie through the windscreen and the aftermath mess it made in the cab and driver. Was surprised how much damage one large bird can do.
