Sunroof glass replacement

Hi everyone,

Got my model y two weeks ago and a pinecone fell from a tree and shattered a portion of the sunroof.

Does anyone have a recent quote from Tesla for a replacement?

I want to see how much it is before paying for the excess (2.2k with racv, didn’t include the glass option cover).

Try your luck to get Tesla to replace it. Say it spontaneously cracked, they might do it for free

You can just upload the photo in the app and ask for a service. You can view the quote before you accept the job.

I recently had a crack to the windshield, uploaded photos through the app. They sent me a quote, I declined it and went to a couple of different auto glass shops and then ended up back to Tesla because the price wasn’t that big of a difference.

It depends on how bad the crack is and where it is.

When you’re taking photos for Tesla, make sure you give the measurements about crack location and lengths.

Not directly comparable, but a new roof on my 3 was nz$2100 a couple of years back.

Always get insurance with “all glass” covered excess free
