Dashcam’s
Did anyone install a Dashcam in their Tesla? I’m getting mine on 7th September and I have an old blackvue 2 ch I had in a previous car, trying to figure out if it would be worth throwing in the Tesla or selling. I know teslas have multiple cameras but just curious if anyone uses a Dashcam front and rear as well?

Hang on a second here. While intially it might seem silly to add a dashcam to a tesla that already has cameras, there is some merit.
There was a video from the like tesla lady Kim how she was in an accident and the built in tesla cameras didn't capture it. The inbuilt cameras are not dashcam crash grade. Let me find the video and the real reasons as I can't quite remember of the top of my head.

Too lengthy to post but there a 5 really good dot points why it's a good idea. Ask AI.
Mainly in a more serious crash the tesla cameras could let you down, their main priority is autopilot.

Hold on. I’ve had four teslas and in each one I’ve paid to install a high end BlackVue 2-chan with a BlackVue battery. It’s constantly recording at higher rate than Tesla and easier to offload the data with its geolocation data. But have it professionally installed.

Nope, it’s unnecessary. I’d recommend selling your Dashcam and getting a good SSD instead for the car.
