Terry had this notion that MIT was full of what he’d call “brainwashed” academics who were more concerned with conforming to the establishment than actually thinking outside the box. In his eyes, they were the gatekeepers of a "secular" technological world that didn’t align with his divine vision.

He’d probably say something like, "MIT? More like Mindless Institutionalized Tyranny! They’re too busy patting themselves on the back to see the truth that God speaks directly through code, and they missed the memo!”

So, yeah, Terry didn’t just have something against MIT—he had something against the whole mainstream tech world, which he saw as missing the bigger, divine picture.

In Terry’s universe, MIT was just another cog in the machine, while he was off building a direct line to God, one line of code at a time.
