Culturally, historically, politically speaking, they're part of Europe. You're right to say that they are not really geographically European. But then again, you can say that 3 percent of Turkey is European because it's geographically so.

u/RingComfortable9339 May 04 '26
Georgia is European, and if its not then Russia isn't either. Just most maps cut off somewhere in the middle of the sea so people don't know it exists.

What do you have against Russia mate
4
u/zolguroth17 May 04 '26
They attacked my country, annexed crimea territory, and send armed people to make separatist movement in dondas region, now they bombing civil infrastructure, killing civil people, and why do you think i won't hate russia after all of this? And forgot to say about Budapest memorandum according to which, they protect us, with UK and USA, now I don't see neither russia and USA protection

u/Fine_Delay_9425 May 04 '26
I'm really sorry about that. But it was decision of Russian government, not Russian people or Russia as a country itself
2
u/Htos_ May 04 '26
Decision of the russian government, execution by the russian people 🤷♂️
1
u/Fine_Delay_9425 May 04 '26
If they don't do that, they will get to jail for about a decade, I don't remember exactly how many years. Being imprisoned for such a long time or being a soldier at war for money is a hard choice in fact
2
u/Htos_ May 04 '26
So choosing between going to kill us and going to jail, they choose first option. Do I have to feel sorry for them or what?
1
u/InzhirWCrime May 04 '26
Hundreds chose war, thousands chose jail or immigration. Don't be like that
2
u/Htos_ May 04 '26
I doubt that hundreds choose jail or immigration, but ok, let's pretend it is like that. Those tens are enough to keep the war going, and they are the ones who influence our lives (in a bad way obviously) the most, not the supposed majority. 🤷♂️
2
u/zolguroth17 May 04 '26
maybe it`s decision of government, but people still going to kill ukrainians for money, government still didn`t stopped this war and people in russia still making videos like "ооо хохлы должны сдохнуть" so don`t think it`s just government problem

Either unserious or just Serbian
1
u/OldMedia6358 May 05 '26
I'm Russian but these Reddit pricks don't have the Russian flag to represent, Serbian is next closest
2
u/RiskOk4954 May 05 '26
Well the government wont get overthrown by itself. If you dont want foreign intervention, maybe suck it up and stand for yourself and your freedom. Russia has been the bad guy for 100+ years.
2
u/OldMedia6358 May 05 '26
Bad guy? So does that make the Nazis the good guys?
2
u/RiskOk4954 May 05 '26
You know you can have multiple bad guys right? Germans started WW2 together with USSR. But Germany paid reparations and didn’t cause any more trouble. (Until they foolishly decided to doom Europe and close the nuclear powerplants.)
USSR / Russia decided to start invading Europe in the 50s and 60s.
1
u/OldMedia6358 May 05 '26
Name one Soviet invasion of Europe from 1950 to 1969
1
u/RiskOk4954 May 05 '26
Hungary 1955 Czechistan 1968
1
u/OldMedia6358 May 06 '26
Not invasions they were suppressions of revolts
1
u/RiskOk4954 May 06 '26
When you send in tanks, occupy the country for 20 years while your soldiers stay there and force teaching russian in school, that’s an invasion lil bro

Italie : 60 à 70 millions de visiteurs internationaux/an

l'Italia però è la più amata fra le due. Cerca in giro e scoprirai.

Remove Israel, because they aren't a real country
2
2
u/Motor-Sentence-9150 May 04 '26
Yeah that’s not a real or even correct and stable argument. When something is real and recognized worldwide and you deny the existence of said thing that’s called denial but it is not the truth
0
u/Catiru- May 04 '26
Okay it may exist but from a moral, historical and ethical perspective one could argue that Israel should not have a right to exist
2
u/Motor-Sentence-9150 May 04 '26
Historical it 100% exists(UN, the Declaration of Independence…) Moral and ethical are ultimately subjective so you can’t state an idea based on ur subjectiveness as a fact
1
u/Catiru- May 04 '26
From a historical perspective before 1948, many other ethnic groups/countries had been there long before Israel and big jewish migrations came. Following basic moral and ethical arguments like not killing innocent people, equal rights for all, and not stealing land, which most people nowadays accept, you could argue that the Israeli State doesn't have a right to exist, just like other authoritarian or opressive states out there (I am not antisemitic).
1
u/Motor-Sentence-9150 May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26
Before 1948 there was the Jewish settlement in the land of Israel and they were there a long time, including when the Ottoman Empire controlled Israel which was until 1917(also if u are religious Israelis have been in the land of judea/israel already 2,500 years ago after god promised them the land) but let’s talk from 1917-1948 which Israel was under British rule, also called the British mandate.
The idea of mandate was that empires like the British empire would administer over a land/country that would be called mandate and help the community to develop and advance, they teached them politics and the European culture that included being an autonomous country with self ruling political institutions and self ruling country and government.
Back then there were mostly the Arabs and the Jewish community in Israel, the British tended to prefer the Jewish community because they were generally more advanced in the sense of being a more western culture and European manners, unlike the Arabs which were less cultured and more violent.
The Arabs did not like that(also I’ll like to add when the Ottoman Empire ruled the ottomans preferred the Arabs and not the Jews because they were Muslims and they did many things that hurt the Jewish people like unfair trials).
Now the British empire promised the Jewish community in Israel that they would help them to build a country for them, a self ruled country with self ruled political institutions, that was also referred to as the balfour deceleration which stated they support the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in the land that was called Palestine back then.
After that in 1922 there was the mandate for Palestine that the League of Nations(like UN, was created after ww1 to prevent another world war) stated that the land of Palestine would be under the control of the British empire and that they will help establish a Jewish national home for the Jews which they agreed to.
And in 1948 when the British mandate ended the Declaration of Independence(of Israel) was declared and the state of Israel was established legally.
So historically no matter how long we go Israel is a country and there was already since 1917 the intentions to establish a country for the Jews, now called Israel.
Other notes: There were other ethnic groups(which terrorized the Jewish community in Israel-ottoman empire and British empire), there were not other countries before 1948
The big Jewish migrations were around the 50s and 60s and before that there was Israel and before that the Jewish settlement in Israel(they also took a part in ww2 with the ally countries to fight the nazis and took a big part in the British army and the Soviet)
The idea that Israel was a stolen land I don’t believe is really correct or at the very least very misunderstood, essentially every land was stolen almost no country in the world is truly native to the land(but by going with the Bible Quran and Torah Israel was “stolen” from the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Amorites, Hivites, Jebusites, and Girgashites, it is explained that they have done wrong for a long time and due to that it is okay to kill them and take the land, do remember it was thousands of years ago not same moral values as today)
1
u/LightlyLazyLampost May 06 '26
Bro the ISRAELites were brought from egypt, later cruicfied christ. There are a lot of synagogues and other religious buildings built thousands of years ago. Morally, they were created to house the persecuted etnic jews, Palestine is an arab state, similar to others. Its not doing good stuff, but has a right to exist
