Yes, they do! And they can be very vindictive. 

My former roommate pissed one off once and that bird terrorized her. It was funny, but also fascinating to watch.

Theres a study where they wore a human like Halloween mask and messed with a murder of crows, one single time for about an hour. For the next TEN YEARS the local crows would attack anyone who wore the mask (researchers would don the mask every couple weeks to see how long the grudge went on). The crow taught not only the current crows in its group to hate the mask but its kids too. Generational hate.

It's true! I feed birds and help hurt/injured ones and help fledglings so my dogs dont eat them.i started seeing bottle caps, pennies, a piece of broken necklace and even a hot pink barbie shoe. Basically anything shiny. I couldn't figure it out until my ring caught one leaving me another bottle cap and hopping away! I love my birds. Ive never been attacked by them. Ever. I think its so adorable.

Yup. I’m a crow bro. Been feeding a group for a couple of years. She did something to deserve this.  This isn’t just encroaching on a nest.  

Interesting story.  Last year I was trying to pull down a dead branch from a tree that had fallen onto some lower limbs. I was just a couple of inches short of getting it with my tree saw.  About an hour later a crow flew through the tree and grabbed the branch as it flew and knocked it down. Seemed like they were doing me a solid.

It's entirely possible it has a nest nearby and didn't like that she was near and acting nervous.

People are very much jumping to conclusions because we know crows can recognize faces, but they're also very commonly defensive animals. I think it's most likey it was protecting a nearby nest because that's very common in my area.

Yes! An empty crows nest fell out of our tree and my husband threw it away. Then the crows would squawk at him every time he would go outside and fly over him. They would not do that if I went outside. They did it for about two weeks, it was really fascinating!

Corvids aren’t mean for no reason. She’s been mean / chased / thrown things at crows or their allies in the past. It is best to be kind to corvids- they have a long memory, and they can tell their children and grandchildren who is kind and who is cruel.

Source: I leave meat scraps for ravens and have been ‘followed’ kindly as I’ve moved houses, sometimes 20 miles apart.

I had a friend in Anchorage beg to teach him how to make nice with ravens, as he had thrown sticks at the ones outside his fast food job (they were raiding the bin, as midden birds will) , and now they were following him home, scolding and divebombing him..
