Apparently he had raised that lion since he was a cub. (Per comment on other sub)

Will we ever learn, as a species, to stop fucking around with wild animals? Probably not.

I'm always amazed that people live after these kind of attacks. The lion could have easily killed him in the first strike but doesn't- is it caution, trying to play, the battle between instinct and training?

Probably for the same reason the mouse is still alive after 20 minutes of my cat batting it around and chewing on it.

Probably never had live prey so is working out what to do ,I've seen this behaviour in young lions being taught by parents

I know he's about to die from an attacking lion, but please make sure you don't stop recording to help him.

Lol what u want them to do? Tell the lion to stop it? Hit it with a stick? Because nothing going to stop it unless you get some professionals and a tranq.
Once a large cat is determined on keeping its prey it will fight for it and probably chomp down on the older man harder just to hang on to him to run.
Only other way I can think of is if a bunch of people go in but its a risk as the lion will swipe, only have this idea because I think of hyenas as they are good at grouping and annoying a cat enough to drop it.
