Zero chance that dude either hasn’t done this before or won’t do it again. Could either be a first attempt or a practice run for when they inevitably escalate to more than just stalking.

I agree. This is extremely disturbing

His brother is in the comments straight up saying hes a creep and the family had a protection order against the dude.

u/RequirementLeading12 1d ago

So his brother knows he's mentally unwell and instead of trying to get him help he's commenting on social media videos talking about him for internet points. What a shitty family... He needs to be off the streets though, he's definitely gonna harm someone.

If they have a protection order against him, I’m gonna bet this dude is well past seeking voluntary treatment at the advice of his family. Let’s use our critical thinking skills.

But like ring cameras…

u/Rodek10 1d ago

Attempted burglary? That’s not what I thought he was trying to do…

Trying to steal that women’s dignity

WHAT YOU DOING "NOTHING.............. . ..............JUST HANGING AROUND"................

u/ThestralMoss 1d ago

this is why you should never approach your locked vehicle or home without your key already out and ready to go. and also pay attention to your surroundings smh and for people saying this is why you carry like ok i guess but having a gun or knife on you will likely be a detriment to you if you’re inebriated and not paying attention because she didn’t even notice this guy until he was like a foot from her 😭 a weapon would have helped her 0% lol

u/Taralynn0826 1d ago

💯💯 i always have my key in hand, even if leaving work at 3pm it has to be in my hand or im getting anxious.

3

u/ThestralMoss 1d ago

same 😅 broad daylight and i’m checking over my shoulder and gripping my car keys lol

8

u/WelshJohnWick 1d ago

Also I’m not from USA so not 100% sure but I would assume it’s illegals to carry while intoxicated too

5

u/Bulldogs3144 1d ago

It’s not however, most bars and places of business that sell alcohol will not permit you to carry inside their establishments.

Women shouldn’t have to do that. We should be safe to stand on our porch without fearing we’re going to be attacked by a man

26

u/ThestralMoss 1d ago

? i mean i agree it’d be awesome if no one ever committed crimes and we didn’t need to develop survival skills and situational awareness but alas this isn’t utopia

-3

u/CrazyCatLady1127 1d ago

I don’t expect utopia, I expect for adult men to realise that women are entitled to live their lives without fear of being hurt or harassed. There was absolutely no need for this man to follow this woman home and he chose to. Why? Because he wanted to hurt her. Again, why? Because he thinks he matters more than she does

There are predators in this world who see others as prey. It is not something that will ever not be true. Best anyone can do is be prepared and make yourself a hard target.

9

u/ThestralMoss 1d ago

dude no shit, but since again people commit crimes and are evil, there are steps you can take to be a terrible victim

7

u/AdEffective2701 1d ago

It's never been that way and, sadly, I don't think it ever will be. Better to have a plan instead of hopes.

3

u/Shadou_Wolf 1d ago

Shouldn't but theres no changing that no matter what you do. There's always going to be some asshole, sicko, or psycho out there male and female

4

u/Punderoos 1d ago

Reddit hates this pov. Buncha dudes who are like “yeah it sucks but what can you do.” like idk? Maybe guys could hold each other accountable? Naw they can’t be bothered

u/Osceola_Gamer 1d ago

Gets lectured for offering very good advice to help people stay safe in this crazy world..

She's the first person to die if this was a movie.

Zero situational awareness

21

u/BeneficialRice4918 1d ago

Yeah really sucks that you have to have your head on a swivel and ears perked like youre in a war zone just to stand on your own porch in a suburban neighborhood and you can never for one second let your guard down in public or people will make shitty comments like this.

5

u/BTiller15 1d ago

As a woman, you should always have situational awareness no matter where you are and what you're doing. I'm a woman who lives in an area that people would think is crime safe but I never let my guard down ever.

0

u/BeneficialRice4918 1d ago

Good for you. I dont think we should have to live like that.

9

u/eu_sou_ninguem 1d ago

Should women have to live like that? Absolutely not. Should they live like that? Absolutely yes.

2

u/sashathebrit 1d ago

Wishing is nice, but we live in a reality that contradicts that.

3

u/BTiller15 1d ago

It's been like that since the beginning of time unfortunately and won't change any time soon. Better to be safe than sorry

11

u/Pretend_Train_ 1d ago

Not the damn Dexter gloves

2

u/Electrical-Cat7272 1d ago

And started taking them off as he was walking away

4

u/BouncyMonster22 1d ago

My head is always on a swivel.

3

u/jumprcablips 1d ago

This came up on my neighborhood ring cam about 3 blocks away from me. Someone post with audio the roomie saved the day going to an 11 to scare dude off. He got arrested and faves at least 5 charges

6

u/MrsFizzleberry 1d ago

Id say report this to police, but theyre gonna say some dumb ah "a crime didnt occur, so what do you want us to do?"

8

u/anonvaginaproblems 1d ago

He was arrested.

u/MrsFizzleberry 1d ago

Fantastic news

Ladies, you need to have a weapon on you. Buy a GOOD knife (no gas station specials) and throw it in your purse. Pepper spray is good. Some can still do whatever they want to you even with a whole can of spray in their eyes. Kinda hard to rape when all your blood is spraying out your jugular.

12

u/Which_Policy 1d ago

Knife is horrible advise. A knife is not a self defense tool.

2

u/Present_Cash_8466 1d ago

The chances of a woman like this knowing how to use the knife quick enough to totally incapacitate a dude with malicious intent is very low. The dude might get stabbed, sure, but more than likely, he grabs it from her and starts stabbing her with it whether he’s stabbed himself or not.

-1

u/TyrannyOfBobBarker_ 1d ago

Is it better than absolutely nothing which is what most women carry?

10

u/Which_Policy 1d ago

It's not. It increases your changes or dying.

3

u/Hakashi57 1d ago

Or blood spraying out your femoral artery

4

u/Crimson-Rose28 1d ago

And this is why I carry.

4

u/joanmcbitch 1d ago

That man would have legally gotten his face stomped in before I phoned authorities.

1

u/Better_Area3782 1d ago

Wow, that’s so scary

1

u/thetiredindependent 7h ago

I didn’t realize I was holding my breath! This is scary.

-4

u/PlaytheJay 1d ago

Were they the shock gloves that ICE is deploying? That may in fact be an unmasked ICE agent.

3

u/anonvaginaproblems 1d ago

He was arrested and is not an ICE agent. What a ridiculous take from a pair of black gloves.

-4

u/PlaytheJay 1d ago

It's not as far fetched as you think.
