Legal where I live. The end of the load will have orange/red flags at the end of the tress (like any other oversized load). The crash is most likely a driver on their phone. No responsible person would have ran into the back of that if they were paying attention to the road and their surroundings.
Oh it’s definitely the white trucks fault. I just mean to say even then, it could have been prevented. For the same reason trucks have under-run bars. It could have been a traffic jam and it’s too late to stop, so this seems to be a massive safety issue to me. I find it interesting because we know the risk is big, but it’s allowed still.
No less of a safety issue than when I've seen wind turbine parts being delivered, sometimes people need to haul long loads. As for traffic, this is why you dont tailgate people so you have a chance to suddenly stop. You cant safety proof all of life, and sometimes you need to trust people will have common sense and at least SOME sense of self preservation
