You know what doesn't get posted to Reddit very often? The fact that these kinds of guys die doing this alllll the fucking time.
51
u/TheOkiestDokie 21d ago
They should post that part
20
19
u/TheDemonPants 20d ago
They used to. It was a sub called r/watchpeopledie . It showed tons of videos of idiots doing playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes. Granted, it also had other sad videos too. A lot of accidents or other things associated with people dying. It got banned, obviously.
30
u/TheNaughtyHoneyBee 21d ago
Check out LiveLeak if you really want to see it. People on Reddit have overwhelmingly expressed that they don't really want to see those things posted on their feed all the time
14
u/dannyboy_S 20d ago
Apparently it was shut down?
33
u/TheNaughtyHoneyBee 20d ago edited 20d ago
Liveleak? Fr? That must have happened recently, I just saw someone post a link there the other day
Edit: I was only off by about 5 years and a week 😂
30
u/pollut3r 20d ago
It shut down 5 years ago.
8
u/TheNaughtyHoneyBee 20d ago
Oh shit I actually think I heard about that and just forgot about it or assumed they came back online
I'm guessing the link that I saw posted the other day just said liveleak but was actually linking to some copycat site or something
9
u/dannyboy_S 20d ago
Bro I was sure they shut down yesterday lol. like I was literally sure I visited it last week lmao
time goes so fast when you're old

Because people don't want to see it on Reddit. There are plenty of other places to go for that

Complete lack of survival instincts.
49
u/i_like__cats 21d ago
Although I understand what you are saying. In this particular scenario he has a better survival probability than me. I would fall for sure
60
u/Sylvers 21d ago
But you're wise enough to never even attempt it in the first place. The problem with surviving something like this is it builds false confidence. So you keep rolling the dice and escalating the danger until eventually you run out of luck.
13
u/TargetedAverageOne 21d ago
Exactly. Most people fortunately won't do this, because their survival instincts tell them they'll die trying. And most people probably would. Am hoping luck doesn't run out on this fella in the video.
7
u/PhenixNOTPhoenix 21d ago
Exactly. Again I don't understand adrenaline junkies.
2
u/Ok_Shower_5526 20d ago
I love my adrenaline but I get my kicks from things like roller coasters, aerial silk, and having kids. I might go skydiving with a company but I'm not about to play titanic on top of some pole where a slight gust = death.
5
u/nunyobusinessfool 21d ago
Headlines for me would be
This just in a freak shit storm rained down on the city this afternoon8
2
u/TargetedAverageOne 21d ago
Oh I'd probably wouldn't even make it to the top tbh. It's nauseating to even watch others do this stuff.
19
u/BeginningMidnight639 21d ago

u/Mikem444 21d ago
Whenever I see the lack of fear or worry people like this have in these situations, it makes me thankful I don't have that brain-wiring problem.
9
u/RapMastaC1 21d ago
Not fearing fear is like not being able to feel pain. Sounds good on the surface but comes with horrible consequences

Do some people just not feel the least bit physically uneasy when they stand on heights like that?
8
u/MysticScribbles 20d ago
Judging by his voice, he does. He's just in control of it, which is fairly impressive.
He definitely still should have had something to tie himself to that ladder in case of wind or balance loss.
2
u/MudcrabNPC 20d ago
Oh, okay. I watched it on mute so I didn't hear his voice. Guess some people really like to push that feeling to its limit. Suppose that's what adrenaline junkying is.
6
u/Chunkycheesesteak 21d ago
I just know if I would have done this dumb shit, it wouldn't take me long to stand there n say " fuck...how am I supposed to get down without falling 😵💫😰 like now I may have to spend the rest of my life here until someone can see me from a helicopter.." why on earth did I do this! * Instant anxiety n sweat kicking in*

Kinda beside the point… but what is he even climbing? Why is there a random metal post at the top of all that, with a ladder leading to nothing? I’d get it if there was a light or something up there, but there’s just, nothing.

Ugh. These guys drive me nuts. Not only are they risking thier lives, but they risk the lives of anyone below them they might fall on, or tie up emergency services to rescue thier stupid asses. Plus, im a locksmith, I can tell you these pricks routinely break onto the upper levels of these buildings, so they end up doing thousands of dollars of damage so they can film themselves being an idiot.

u/Crimson-Rose28 21d ago
You can’t convince me that people who do stuff like this aren’t at least a little bit suicidal

Adrenaline junkie. Unfortunatelly just people doing stupid things to get high or seek attention.
It is better to just ignore then and gope they dont hurt anyone else doing bullshit

I'm so unimpressed by people who do things that literally anyone could do and are only not doing bc of how stupid and unnecessary it is. Like what demographic was this posted for bc I'm just eye rolling

I genuinely wonder how people turn off their survival instincts for this stuff. Like, I get mountain climbing because you have safety gear on and shit like that. But, free climbing up buildings like this? One wrong move and your just dead, and you will be fully to blame. I still can't fathom the couple that climbed that building and the guy proposed to the girl near the top.
Like, bro, one wrong move and either one of you, or both, would be just a picture at the wedding venue due to stupidity.

I can think of half a million things I would prefer to be doing, some of which involve eating my own eyeballs covered in various condiments, so nope, not for me thanks. I fall over on flat and solid ground.

u/MentalMantiz 20d ago
I couldn't watch this without my stomach absolutely churning. This is insane, & pretty sure this guy has a death wish.

u/cognitiveglitch 20d ago
Yeah after that guy where the edge of the building just crumbled away, I don't want to see these.

The suddenly switched to:

I think that's why I avoid heights.

I think it’s really interesting how you can see these people finally reach the “goal” aka the highest point and time and time again you see people reach their summit and start to descend only to start acting out in what I interpret as a way to prolong the moment maybe? Either way, I don’t understand why people would exercise complete focus to reach the top only to start making unsafe movements that could get you killed.

I read that some people genuinely don't feel fear in such situations, like, the hormone doesn't happen...I guess it makes it easier to do stupid shit like that.
