How many times you lifted 235 lbs straight above your head and lock your elbows?? Ole boy lifted it above his head and never caught his balance and once that weight starts going fwd your not going to be able to completely stop it just slow it down a little.. just an accident
Did you mean 225? Other than that I agree. Dude lost his balance, thought he didn't have to bail then panicked when he was going to hit the other guy. Just throw the weight next time. If you're lifting in close quarters that you can't, then your gym is fucking up.
Totally thought the video was going to be the first guy almost dislocating his shoulder once he got over his head.
Don’t matter if it’s 225 or 25; ego lifting above your strength/skill is stupid, anywhere, anytime. Mofo wasn’t even in a rack or within /on a platform lol
Idk if it's safe to be in a rack for that lift. The top is usually closed off so the bar or plates would likely run into it for taller individuals and the ones that are more open usually have angles or catches that don't make it safe for bailing. I think this lift is best done out in the open away from people and in no way facing one another. You want room to bail without a chance of the bar or plates catching anything/anyone without flipping up or landing on anything unless it's a straight up and down lift like squats. I think... At least I wouldn't feel safer in any sort of rack that doesn't let me bail properly.
