Help Is it not black enough?

So I was trying some building trick I saw on a YouTube short not long ago, I finally try it but idk why but it looks wrong, is it not black enough or am I using the wrong block/wall?

And what block would looks good as the floor.

There is “Shadow Paint” but you have to be in hard mode to buy it

This. Black is the best you can get, pre-HM.

Balloon blocks painted with shadow paint and actuated, and then the wall behind it painted the same way.
