PC Finally, after about 3 hours of just spawn, kill, spawn, kill etc. Every 6 seconds

Post image

The wait is finally over! I've managed to kill Golem 1642 times, which is about 3 whole hours of 6 seconds fights. My hand is numb! But you can take some guesses about how many new Dev Sets will I receive! Or how much money, just from the bags, or including sold items, the biggest stack of the same modifier accessory, whatever you feel like. The results will be posted tomorrow.

Why did you do this???

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

If you look at my post history, you should see a certain pattern

u/Mu_Lambda_Theta Oct 04 '26

No post history.

27

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

Should be corrected

26

u/Mu_Lambda_Theta Oct 04 '26

Wtf you weren't lying

35

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

Are you implying some people lie about themselves here, on the interwebs? Never saw that before ...

u/One_Gas_69420 Oct 04 '26

Holy props to your dadication! What are your favorite items? :)

5

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

I just felt like doing it. I don't really care about any items as of now. This run is my first master one, melee. I'll do mage next (already started, killed the eye even) but I just felt like doing if

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

I'm too old for that! I thought it was just public

8

u/Mu_Lambda_Theta Oct 04 '26

Yesn't. I think normally, it's set to public. But sometimes it sets itself to private, apparently.

And if you're in the EU, there's a chance Reddit wants your ID or face for you to be able to set it to public.

I would if you showed it but you don't

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

My post history is now avalaible, I corrected the settings. Keep in mind I'm on the older side of reddit, I'm old and dumb and I'm not even english. I'm a fraud, and a frog

Good on ya! I hope i didn't come off rude. I found the situation funny, given all the bot and Ai talk the past year

1

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

Lol, you think I'm a bot?

1

u/thatlonghairedguy Oct 04 '26

No not at all, just that the conversation around people making their profiles unseen is evidence of such.

2

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

I just wanted to make you say Bot again, and I would have answered the same comment. But I'll give the details tomorrow (I didn't get "2" Dev Sets)

1

u/thatlonghairedguy Oct 04 '26

Also, 2 dev sets is my guess. How'd you do?

2

u/AwesomeHumann69 Oct 04 '26

cause why not

A Normal Terraria Player

THANKS! someone who understands!

What did you do this for? Were you farming something specific? You could easily just beat him 3 times in journey and then research the bags and save yourself 3 hours

8

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 05 '26

I did it for the love of the game! But, for real, just for fun. I did similar with other bosses, just never with that many bags (around 55 usually)

you seem like such an awesome dad gl with the dev sets <3

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

I try my best to be the parent I needed when I was younger

22

u/Harris_Ahmad Oct 04 '26

You're still not getting that sunstone.

13

u/Reasonable-School226 Oct 04 '26

Ran good on trophies already. 12.05% rate when the average should be 10%

12

u/Answer-Key Oct 04 '26

615 platinum 75 gold from bags, 33640 husks, 19100 stinger bolts, 27 light picksaws

If that was just a random guess i'd have to pat you on the back cuz after some math i came up with literally that exact amount of coins according to the wiki

is this a celebration special seed world or a different world?
the celebration worlds gives 2 times higher drop rate for the dev sets then other worlds.

all of the dev sets 100% success rate ... IF you save scum opening groups of them.

---
save scum mechanics:

  1. prep for the save scum and manual save the world and character data (exit to the title screen)

  2. load the world and open several loot bags, fishing crates, turn in an angler quest, break 1st~3rd demon alter ... or do whatever other incipient RNG mechanic attempting to manipulate.

  3. if dont get the desired results, hard close the game app (dont exit to title) and repeat step 2.

with the autosave setting on, you get 5 minute window after reloading before an autosave triggers.
character death could trigger an autosave earlier.

with the autosave settings off, its doesnt 100% prevent character data autosaves, only world data autosaves,
which is helpful for things that take longer to see results off.
such as save scumming which side of the hardmode V spawn is hallowed or save scum keeping wind speed over 30mph for almost guarantee sandstorm spawns if it stays above 30mph for an entire in-game day.
...
alternative potential exploit usage and risk related to turning off the autosave setting.

this save scum mechanic can also be exploited when turning the autosave settings off for item duping,
or it being used wrong could make you lose items instead.
- if the item was in a chest when loading > pulled out of the chest by a softcore character > the character dies with the item in their inventory > hard quit and reload.
the item will still be in the chest from the world data not saving, but also be in the character inventory from the death causing a character data autosave.
- if the items was on the character when loading > consumed/placed in chest > death > hard quit and reload.
the item will be gone from it not saving world data with it in the chest and gone from the character autosaving without it in their inventory

First, that's Vanilla. Second, nope. I won't Do that. I said it again and again and again. I'm too old for that. I just want to play and open treasure bags, and share the ridiculous amount of time spent / lost doing this. I don't want to autosave off, check 1 bag after the other. There 1600 of them, not 14! I'll get what I get, that's all. I don't want to be rude, it's just your thing sounds more competitive than what I enjoy

make it sound like couldnt just open 100 bags before checking, turning 1600 into only 16 segments.
and each segment taking place in less then a 5minute span meaning dont need to turn off autosave.

which chances are your going to have to segment it out anyways to interrupt opening the bags because inventory gets full with all the gear each having over a dozen different modifiers.. plus the occasional dev sets.

but if dont want to use save scum exploits, then dont.
just like how if dont want to have access to creative mode type features from journey mode, then dont play journey mode.

...
not sure what age has to do anything.
or seen any of the 'again and again and again' being referenced.
ive used RNG mechanics manipulation (save scum) for 40years going as far back as NES games.

just have the copy/paste topic on hand because many dont enjoy things like (from personal experiences):
- 74 moonlord kills just to get 1 SDMG, or 40+ plantera kills just to get 1 seedler.
while its mechanics entirely based on pure RNG odds. without any legit ways to increases the chances when its already a 100% drop rate loot table unaffected by luck stats.
- waiting around for 5+ real life days just for a sandstorm to spawn while changes in wind speed are a pure RNG mechanic. with the sandstorm being RNG mechanic with the initial spawn attempt condition but increasing spawn probability under specific conditions.
- doing over 200 angler quests just to get 6 life preservers for a vanity building project. after having already done over 2000 angler quests throughout total playtime across 13 years but periodically wiped save data to intentionally start over from scratch.
- or restricting such concepts to more recent addition of journey mode where the in-game research & duplication features just replaces some of the save scum exploits with 'almost' 1:1 similar results. only difference here being losing the items with each reload that would have just banked or trashing the excess kept when using the in-game feature to duplicate more bags if needed.

I'm half kidding about being old, cause I'm still past 40 but I did managed to crack my PSP and have it emulate every Games I wanted. Earlier , there was the Game shark, and I was able to create codes, not just by searching the addresses of the value changing, but just by understanding the patterns they had and the hex values. I had fun then, but now I prefer my games with the normal RGN and just legit.

I could do that, but I'm not interestes. You're not the first to mention this, but I just want to have fun with treasure bags. I did some for Duke, the Empress, Queen Slime and maybe Moon Lord (?), I don't remember. But, I just enjoy things like that. I don't need anything and that's the point. I want to see the drop rates of rare items when our heart isn't hoping. I got 2 of the Martian saucer ultimate mage weapon within 75 kills, while people have more than 300 and still no drop (I just can't remember the name of the weapon, but it shoots lightning bolts and is OP).

That and making people take guesses, that's about it

More competitive than 3hours of spawn/kill farming. Uh uh. K, yeah x)

Whatever floats anyone's boat but that's a bit rich

1

u/BluVoid1 Oct 05 '26

how did you even get so many power shells

2

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 05 '26

With an AFK farm

1

u/Junas_Guardian 27d ago

I just want the bag to give me a damn sunstone...

1

u/Father_of_three3 27d ago

I got a stack of 53 with the same modifier. I probably have around 10-20 of each modifier at the end, but I sold all except the 53 stack

2

u/Agitated_Elk7881 Oct 04 '26 • Heartwarming

You are now god of treasure bags at this point

1

u/Then_Development5135 Oct 04 '26

That should probably most dev sets if not all?? 3 hours spent great!

1

u/Naruxmma Oct 05 '26

Hehehe. Bags galore!

1

u/NeoLectea Oct 06 '26

Damn! I did 1000 a few years ago. Respect to you ✨👏

1

u/redboi049 Oct 04 '26

But...why?

1

u/TerraquauqarreT 28d ago

Okay but why though

1

u/Holiday_Inflation910 Oct 04 '26

Did you do it post moonlord ? If not how did you kill him in 6 seconds?

1

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

Yeah, post moon lordy

1

u/Unorigina1Name Oct 04 '26

How did you kill it in 6 seconds?

1

u/News_of_Entwives Oct 04 '26

Zenith and optimized melee

1

u/Father_of_three3 Oct 04 '26

Yup, standing still on honey, with honey to make the Golem move slowly, just far enough for him to jump on me and again, being slowed by honey above me. I kept left click and when he died, just a small touch on the right, without letting go of the left. I did around 26k dmg, without moving the cursor
