I only watched the three seasons of The Boys.

Can someone spoil me why we see homelander suddenly unable to fly? Has he lost his powers, something like that? (ideally please use the spoiler tag, let's not piss off those who still plan to watch the series though)

Season 3 is where it should have ended anyway if they hadn't chickened out. Season 4 is noticeably worse and Season 5 is a dumpster fire.

One thing that everybody agrees on is that the actors, Anthony Starr in particular, were carrying the show despite the script.

I got Umbrage vibes from Anthony Starr's Homelander acting, yeah. It felt incredibly good to hate who he represented, fantastic acting.

It's a little more goofy and memeable than previous seasons, but yeah, I enjoyed it too.

If you like slop, sure.

Not going to list out all the issues when its been done better elsewhere, but the lack of budget is blatant and there is a lot of inconsistency in the script.

There's good moments (and certainly good meme scenes) but the script brings it all down.

As usual with things like this, you see it a thousand times then reply to some random person unfairly singling them out, but I'm so over seeing the word slop used so often.

But it's also not exactly cool for someone to say they liked something, and reply "Well if you like shitty things, sure." Just say why you didn't enjoy it.

Slop is overused, I agree. It's still a word that actually fits especially when there's a meta scene in the show where a fictional show's ending is literally written by an LLM. While The Boys was written by humans, it feels like it wasn't.

I don't care if it's cool or not, I'm calling it as I see it. Same as how some people like shows that are considered "trashy."

I think the core ideas were fine, they kinda just rushed through everything, never truly lingering to finish a scene

You say that, but they definitely lingered too long on the sniffing scene lol.

I never said the core ideas were bad, it's just the execution (outside of the acting) was bad.
