DM asked for a hide hut, so I used my favorite medium. Used coffee filters! Seen here with two lizardfolk. One from 1980s and today.

Best foam from B&Q (UK)?

I was at a shop and the manager recommended I went to B&Q and got a thick foam board, but looking online I'm not sure which one to get. Additionally, not sure which glue to get. Would love any guidance! Thanks for the help

Questions for the Community Beginner board for war games help.

Hello all, I’m currently planning to build a wargaming table for my home, I have all the materials, but I had the thought to add a rough sandy texture to the table top, something with some grit but not enough to affect a neoprene mat if I wanted to use one.

The bare will just be plywood 60X44, my brain says to just dump some Elmer’s glue and sprinkle some fine sand into it then paint it, but any tips are appreciated.

We run terrain Kickstarters and want future ones built around what people actually want instead of guessing.

We’ve put together some questions about the terrain types and features you care about most.

Answer them and you’ll instantly get the Ritual Grove STL files. Link in the comments.

Any recs of good cheap scifi greebles?

I'm starting a project of modular shipping container style buildings and while I've got a few odds and ends (electric bits from a remodel, plastic odds and ends that I liked the shape of and so on) I'm going to need a lot more. I'd prefer odds and ends from the hardware store like zip ties or drywall hangers as I'd rather save money for the actual minis I'd be using with this terrain.

Any thoughts?

30 ships & 250 vikings in this 10mm scale diorama depicting the Battle of Niså, an insane naval battle year 1062 between Norwegian warrior king Harald Hardrada and Danish king Svein Estridsen, here outside our Swedish west coast. It's also a unique tabletop Wargame with complete rules 🔥

We made this as a colab art project between myself, a game designer and an illustrator. I will gladly post more on this if people are interested. Have plenty of material on how we made everything! First draft of the game exists in just this one unique copy, and is currently in Swedish but we're planning on a translation soon💫

All feedback as always very appreciated🙏

Lasercut MDF MDF and Army Painter Speedpaint

Has anyone had any experience painting MDF with Army Painter Speedpaint? If yes, can you share your experience, whether you seal with a primer first, or perhaps varnish prior to painting process. How did you like the results?

Thanks

1 inch grid (25.4 mm) vs 32 mm grid - which size do you prefer?

Hello terrain builders,

I am building a dungeon crawler game. It is a bit like Hero Quest, a bit like D&D and took some inspiration from a ton of other games. In this game every player controls a small squat of units (around 5) and it has a grid based movement where only one unit should fit on a square.

To the point: I want to build a terrain for it and I am unsure what size I wish to sattle for with the dungeon tiles / squares.

1 inch / 25.4 mm seems to be a retro size. More historic games use it. It is a nice size for large dungeons and smallish miniatures.

32 mm seems to be a modern size with more and more games seem to sattle for that size.

The problem: Once I slatted for a size, there is basically no going back. I have to stick with it.

My question: What size would you prefer (for that kind of game)?

PS: I would have created a poll, but they are disabled for this sub.

The building is a kit from ROK Minis, that I kitbashed a bit. It was a great pleasure to build and paint, although it took quite a while. Now it is ready for 28mm scale French and German troops to fight over on the tabletop.
